Not sure what you mean about adjustable springs, but folks use stuff like the Eibach Sportlines with KYB AGX. I'm sure it's going to shorten the life of the shock (and void the warranty on them) but you may still get acceptable life out of them, depending on your driving habits/road conditions.
As far as I know, other than a full coilover setup, your only other real choice would be some Koni Sport shocks. They would probably handle the drop better than the AGX's, but they're going to be a PITA to adjust and install compared the AGX's. Also, they're still not designed for the even more limited travel that you're going to have.
If you're going really low, you should really have a short stroke shock. Problem is, nobody sells them in the US market. I know some guys around here found some KYB Buzz Specs on Ebay, but they're expensive.
You'll also need to do something about your alignment when you lower the car as much as it sounds like you want. How low *do* you want to go?
