What are the differences between the 93 Maxima's VG and VE fuel pumps? My 93 GXE is making the sounds of fuel pump death, so I've been calling around for price quotes. The GXE (VG) fuel pump is always right around $399, while the SE (VE) pump is only $99.

I assume there's a reason for this huge price difference, but I'm hoping that it's a stupid one, and that I can actually still use the VE pump in my VG car. Is this the case, or am I going to be stuck paying $300 dollars for a fuel pump?

Hope that made sense.

Well im uncertain of the differences between the two if any, the only piece of advice I can offer you is to buy a walbro for $100 instead of paying for am OEM replacement pump which is three times the price. Search maxima.org for part numbers and details of the installation etc etc.
