Third Brake Light Troubles...

Hello all...I have done searches on this site in both the G35 and Tech forums sections with no luck. I am guessing that this problem doesn't happen very often. Recently I was told that my third brake light was not coming on during braking, so I pulled the light pod, and turned it around to look at it while I depressed the brake. The light does come on, but is very dim, and is flickering. The bulbs are hard soldered to a circuit board, so it looks to me like a replacement of the complete pod is necessary. I've tried to find one online with no luck either. Do you know of a place besides the dealer, to get this? (or a reason/fix for the problem?)

I got all the way to the "Rear lamps , High mounted stop lamp ,High mount lamp ,W/o rear spoiler" category in the list, but there was nothing available.

There are LEDs, but they are soldered right to a circuit board, and the fact that they come on at low level, and flicker indicated to me that there is likely a problem not with the lamps themselves, but with the circuit. There hasn't been much in the way of response here, or in the G35 forum, so I guess I will have to call the dealer next week.

This is a very common problem among cadillac owners. You should goto http://www.ledfix.com/ and see if they will rebuild yours. They dont currently offer anything for the G35 but maybe they will.. I doubt he will remember me, but I was an admin over on the cadillac owners website back in the day... I suppose worst case you email them and they say no...

The LED light on the caddy is like $500 for a replacement, and logan rebuilds for $150....

26590-AM800- is the part number for the brake light.. You can call Joe at everything infiniti (his contact info is in my sig, tell him you know Wes).. Im seeing $150 for this part according to his website...

Thanks very much Wes, however, that appears to be a light for a trunk lid spoiler application, (for $160.00). My third light is on the rear deck inside the car. I don't have a spoiler on the trunk.
