third brake light

alight i live in md and i was wonering if anyone knows if in md you are obligated to have the third brake light on your car. i have s13 coupe and i am thinking about taking it off.

even ancient cars have 3rd brake lights. I'd check your local DMV, and see what their regulations say.

afaik you must buy the car with it. i think you can remove it or change the location once you own the car. i could be wrong. my dad who lives in Timonium, MD doesnt have a 3rd light on his Camry anymore

I'm in Baltimore as well. Been driving for about a year without a third brakelight and have never had a problem. Nor did I have any issues registering at the DMV.
