Third brake light

My g35 window brake light stopped working. The taillights work when braking just not the tail light in the window. I found a replacement bulb for cheap but it seems odd that all of the leds would go out at the same time. Has anyone else had this issue?

I didn't know the 3rd brake like was leds....if it is...check for a fuse too.

i think it runs off the same fuse as the tail light brake lights and those are working.

problem.....its $280 at the dealer to fix.....waste of money.

I tried to test the wiring on the damn thing and now none of the brake lights are working and I cant put the car in Drive!

Any ideas, I'm going to reset the ecu and see if that helps.Checked the fuse and it looks fine.

I know you checked the fuse, but it sure sounds like that's the issue... like you shorted something out testing the circuit. The shift lock solenoid should work off of voltage to the brake lamp circuit.

The LED 3rd lamp failure isn't uncommon. Probably a poor design that's not properly heat managed. LEDs are supposedly bulletproof unless they are allowed to overheat.

you were right it was a fuse, turns out my back up was burnt too, all of the lighting issues I've had on this car are really getting to me.

always check fuses first....

i dont know anyone who has really had any problems with lights.
