I was thinking to replace it with the new beefed up G37X sedan. I talked to the dealer and he told me we'll see the 2.5l engine bu not the 4 cylinder but a V6 small. Why Infiniti would do that. There is already a good 4 banger. I told him I am not interested in it. I thought to share the info with you guys. Especially with you Telco. You may have to trade your G in.

The 2.5 is already used in japan. 2006–present Nissan Skyline V36 250GT Sedan.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_VQ_engine wrote:A Nissan Skyline equipped with this engine was used by Nissan engineers to demonstrate that it was possible to achieve an overall fuel economy of 6.14 L/100 km (38.3 mpg U.S.) by travelling 1,024.3 kilometers (636.5 mi) on one tank of petrol.[1]
Also a turbod version

2.5 V6 G37X... is this true? I know they were offered in Japan as the 250 GT, but that's interesting to see them reaching our shores... why in the G37 model?

Save your money and do something responsible with it. Like buying me a turbo. I wont even be greedy. I'll settle for single, I don't need twin.

Obviously they would not call it g37X but g25x. Not for me. I aiming for the G37X maybe. Not sure tho. I am still happy with my car. I just have tendency to replace my cars after 2-3 years. It is almost 2 years old.

I thought the 2.5 in Japan was a 4 cylinder one not the 6. Oups. I should take my head off from my B... sometimes.

hehehhe

I wonder if they put the new ATTESA-ETSO system to the new G37X sedan, that would make a car launch faster?..

ATTESA is already present in g35x 07-08s, they dont make the car faster, they just distribute power properly during snow/awd/slips etc.

You must be like our family. The family joke is that instead of buying new tires, we just get a new vehicle.

There are like 4 or 5 versions of the ATTESA system. I think the G35x has the ATTESA-ETS or Pro. Can't remember.

It does help launch better by minimizing loss of traction.

I actually did it a few times. Last time I did it with my wifes Focus. Needed new tires and brake. I know that was the last hatchback year for the Focus. My wife loved the first one so I bought another one for her. They gave me a good discount because the new models were there already.

I might do the same with the G. I just talked to the owner at work. Try to get him involved with this. I am not buying it for cash now. I probably end up leasing one for the first time. The owner is willing to pay $250.00/month and I pay the rest. What I'll get for my G will be mine. Sounds like a damn good deal. But the reason, he wants to keep me here in the shop. Still try to get more out of him. He loves me as his son so I should be ok for more. C'mon Dad that's all you got?zozo

Attesa ETS is in the G and in the R32.

Pro is in the R33,34

and the GT-R version is in the new 09 GT-R.

I'm quoting it from Infiniti's 2009 Lineup article:

"...For the first time since the G-coupe rolled off the assembly line it will be offered with Infiniti's intelligent ATESSA E-TSÔ (Advanced Total Traction Engineering System for All Electronic Torque Split) all-wheel drive system. ATESSA E-TSÔ uses an advanced torque split control strategy which transfers optimum torque to the wheels according to road and driving conditions resulting in outstanding handling due to optimum torque distribution from front to rear (50:50 up to 0:100). It also provides high starting traction performance and smooth and stable acceleration with a 50:50 torque split when launching from standing start..."

So I wonder, if this version of ATTESA is similiar to the one that is used in G35x '07-'08 so it distributes 50:50 torque split from standing start?

And if it's something new would it be available on 2009 G37x sedan (which I plan to buy in February and join all you guys ).

I think now that there is a 7 speed auto every one should be buying G37xS Sedans! Or Coupes... I would really like a G37xS coupe... Never seen one of these yet lol!

I guess, sedan would be traditionaly lighter than a coupe, wouldn't it? So it would be faster! I wonder about 0-60 time for a sedan with the 7sp-auto and 328hp engine, yummy!

I'm thinking to buy a white G37xS sedan, with all available options. But some guys say, that it might be better to buy G37x, not G37xS because of the poor riding comfort using the sport seats during the long trips. Is it true? I'm rather a slim person and usually don't like the wide chairs and I think more ways to adjust the sport seat would be better...

Well if your a slim guy then it won't be a problem! I like the new sport seats myself! They have like a million adjustments! Also I have a G with the sport package and it rides great! It is just the springs are a little tighter but you would never know until you hit the twisties!

Get the G37xS Sedan as it is the fastest G on the road! The 7 speed is only going to make it fast 0-60 and the x is going to give you great traction! Then the S gives you the fun in the twisties!

IMHO the G37xS Sedan Loaded FTW

oh yea it has to be black too!

Either a four or a six would work. However, I am concerned about loss of performance. A 2.5 liter, normally aspirated G would be a dog.

2.5 liters is one third less than 3.7 liters. To maintain similar performance, the car would need to be one third smaller and lighter. That would require getting the weight down to 2,500 pounds which would be very difficult to accomplish. Think Mazda Miata.

They're not going to bring a 2.5L to the USA as an infiniti are they? Isn't the 2.5 altima coupe already close enough? I thought they were only brining the G37 Sedan over to UP their performance not bring a 2.5L to downgrade it from the 3.5L.
