I have been thinking of doing this conversion from some time now. From the information that I have gathered it seems the 03 brakes are just too small. I have changed from tv o.e.m. Brake pads to akebono ceramic pads and stopping power I no where near what they used to be to say the least. And not to mention my rotors are warping prematurely. Has anyone changed from the standard brakes on an 03 sedan(non brembo) to the larger and more improved brakes that come standard on the 05/06 sedan. And If so what all do I need for the conversion besides the pads, rotors and calipers from the 05/06. Thanks in advance.

There are a few members I believe changed their set ups. I am not sure who. I believe Red Det upgraded to something. Maybe just the pads.

Red did it but I think he also changed the rotors and calipers.

The pads from the 05's are too big for the 03/04 calipers.

Yeah I pretty much know that I would have to change the pads, rotors and calipers. But was wondering if there was anything else I would need.

Just buy the new parts at the auto parts store and you can change the out... You need new break fluid too.

I think it is a direct bold up!

Direct bolt on. Better or same stopping power. NO more dust. Brakes from the 05-07 coupe work as well. If you get them from a sedan, 05x didn't have the upgrade.

can't be more than 100 per caliper and 60 or 70 per rotor. plus 45 bux for the ceremic pads.

Go to advance auto... they offer the best deals in TAMPA!

take some pics of your front wheels and I can tell just by looking at them. I think they do have the bigger fix.

05 x didn't get the bigger brakes. They got them in 06. I can tell by all that brake dust, you have the 03/04 coupe/sedan and 05x brakes.

I paid $175 for the front brakes, everything. The stopping power is improved slightly, NO DUST issues and the bigger brakes fill up the wheel...

Also they don't get as hot as the old ones... They were to small during hard driving.

I have to say that the 05+ brakes are accually really good.

I understand why they didn't spend the money and put in the brembos on the 6MT's

where did you upgrade from? you went to dealership? looks like when these brakes are due for service i will just replace them with the new brakes... as i dont like the dust... but it usually takes about a week or so to build up like that... (it was the day before i washed my car) ... but they do stop well
