So was wondering if there is a bad year (the first one? ) I should stay away from when buying used. Is there any expensive service with the CVT transmission? I was also looking at a used FX35 but I can get much better deal on the Murano , less miles more options and LESS money..doesthe FX handle waaaaaaaaay better than the Musano.

thanks

Can't give much input on the Murano, never driven one.

I've bought four Infinitis over the last few years including two FX35's. The first gave me 16K great miles, only traded it because I wished I had gotten all the bells and whistles. I've got a '06 AWD loaded now and really enjoy it.

I've found that you really don't pay all that much more when comparing Nissan with Infiniti, but there is a great deal of difference in comparable models, and my experience is that Infiniti holds its value better when you trade. I've also noticed a world of difference the few times I've had any warranty issues. When I took my wifes Versa in for warranty repairs, I'll guarantee you they didn't offer to let me have a loaner!

I am renting a Murano right now while my QX4 is in the shop, and I love the car. I have been beating the crap out of it and the AWD system is LOVELY. You should see me, I have been driving this thing like its stolen. I even drove it in the Pacific Ocean yesterday (hello salt water) and flew down the beach at high speeds and it was NICE. AWD is a nice feature, the car handles very sporty and smooth. I'll break my experience down: PROS: sporty, comfortable, fun to drive, great handles, and QUICK. The indash screen is pimpish. I like this car. CONS: dashboard is huge, can't see the nose of the car, poor visibility in rear. All things that I could get used to.

I would never buy another Murano. Paint is thin. Interior plastic cheap. Terrible gas mileage and worst of all it is the worst ride I have ever had. Rides like there is no shocks at all. My passengers say things like "OUCH!", "OH MY GOD!" Buy mine if you want 12,000.00 miles and mint. Joe
