thinking of tackling these rust spots (pics) - '94

I've got a '94 villager (quest with different stickers) that runs well and is in good condition other than these few rusty spots. My main concern is that since it's a unibody structure, what surprises might I run into when I cut out some of these spots?

passenger - front fender (not bad, but there's a bit of paint bubbling just behind the mud flap, which means there's gotta be rust starting under there.

I just got a MIG welder and an a little eager to goof around with it. Perhaps this may be its first project.
