After we had the baby, the car has only been used to go back and forth to work...The wife hates driving it because it's a 6MT with a tricky clutch...and the backseat is useless. Plus, if we ever move to snow, an SUV would be better...

So, I'm considering selling the G35 for an 06+ FX35. I've got a lot of $$ invested in mods (some of which can be pulled and installed in the FX). But the exhaust and clutch will have to stay.

So what do you guys think? Should I strip the stereo out? Should I just trade the thing in, or sell it outright?

Thoughts?

UPDATE:

Well we've decided to wait at least a year before we sell the car. I'm still not sure what to replace it with, but at least I have some time to think about it. Probably get a sedan...I'd love a high HP (500) 4-door like the SLP Pontiac G8

I think you should sell it privately to get the most money. You know how trade-in goes. What kind of stereo do you have?

That is my wave of emotions!!! Noooo Joe, say it ain't so!!!

What happened to the dreams of the SC or TT....

Duuuude??

Ok, IF you go through with it. Sell it privately IMO. Stereo fully depends on you, I have no idea if you still have all the old stock etc.

But private is the way to go first for sure.

Sean that's the route you'll take later on too. Just wait and you'll see. LOL

Joe why not a sedan? You can have the X and it would be as sporty as your coupe with enough room at the back.

About the sell. I would try to sell it privately. Exhaust and stereo are the type of mods people wouldn't mind to buy with the car.

There is always:Give me upgrade parts and I give you OEM ones.

But seriously if you do want to remove anything before trading I'd probably be interested.

Oh and just get a 35 or 37x, room for kid and AWD, make sense.

**checks calendar...not April 1st**

I also vote for a G35/7X....love spending your money!!

used car values are going up, the trade in on 05 sedan went up about $1.5K in the past few months. Try listing on Craigslist since it's free. When I sold the cobra I got more calls from Craigslist than my cars.com listing. Just put lots of photos on photobucket and link them into the listing!

Dreams were crushed with reality! A SC is a 6-7k project on my 31k car that I'm still paying on. I've always wanted a boosted car...but now I have a family to consider. The G35 coupe is just not practical for me anymore.

Not sure when I'll sell it...I'll try private party first.

get a G35x or G37x what you should of had in the first place best of both worlds plus it'll handle the snow.

You may be able to trade it in on a Sedan and do alright. You usually can make better of course selling privately but it may well be a valuable car for a dealer and they may be willing to make a good deal for you in both directions. You really have nothing to be lost for trying to see what they may be willing to do for you.

In any case I vote for a GXS, you'll feel more like you are in the coupe and still have awd with a back seat.

"I saw your ad on Craigslist and will buy your car. Please remove the post and accept my check with an extra $1,500 in it. My mover will be there Friday to pick up the vehicle..."

Had to do it! +1 for the Sedan with an X behind the 5 or 7 but another Infiniti either way and it sounds like you wont be going wrong.

I like hearing the 05 went up $1.5k recently-there's a nice change from reality!

I was given a FX when I had my 'G' worked on for a couple of days. My impression was that it looked ok on the outside but the inside wasn't what I liked. It was smaller inside than what it seemed like it should be, in fact my wife's Versa seemed as large. Performance wasn't there either.

It drove ok for what it is but I just have the feeling that you may not be satisfied with it going from a coupe to the FX.

I looked at those. Pretty cool as far as a fix for the power issue. But then that brings up the idea of M45 AWD.

Performance wasn't there? you're crazy dude. Maybe it was just you though. I like the FX. Most of the people I know who have them really like them. Joe you should take one home for the weekend, most dealers let you do that. If you decide on an older one, get an 06 or newer, they have the upgraded interior. The 09 fx with the HR motor and the 7 speed transmission are toe to toe with the FX45 as far as speed. And the FX50 is wicked. I drove one and I'd swear its faster than a G37. According to 1/4 mile times, they are identical. Anyway, Joe, take one home and see how you like it. I took an FX45 home once and loved it. They say because of the long hood you cant see very well if you're short, but I'm 5'10 and I felt fine in it. Plus the rear view monitor helps. But if you're a competent man you should have no issues driving it.

I don't know. I drove FX,EX and the M and EX was crappy(I drove 2 of them). Rattles and weird noises in the cabin and no backseat legroom at all. FX just don't do it for me. Althought it wasn't the FX50. I am sure I wold have different opinion right now. M was pretty good. It is a good cruiser. It is a little too big. G sedan is just a perfect size.

Joe you guys already have a Mitsu SUV why another SUV. Get a sedan and enjoy it. M or G.

This is actually my hardest decision...we already have an SUV. We'll see if I get any bites on the coupe...I may just keep it another year or so.

I say keep the G and stick with it...

You're going to sell it and then wish you hadn't.

But who am I to convince you?

I'm 19, broke, no girlfriend, and I regret letting "the one" get away everyday

*sigh*

To have 2 different style vehicles make more sense than 2 same type. Sedan with SUV is a good combo. I also like the hatchbacks too. ( I know I know it is in my European blood). You probably not a big fan of it. I just drove last week my friends mitsu hatchback. It was pretty pepi. I loved it.

How do you guys like the Mitsu you have. Any problems?

We love it! It fit our needs perfectly! I've actually used the "utility" function last weekend when I had to buy a small tree for my front yard.
