What should i know about the S/c Nissan Xterra's? Is the Supercharged version noticably quicker then the N/a Xterra's?

How reliable are they? anything i should look out for? What should i look for? are any years better then others? I'm looking at getting one for the Wisconsin snowy winters and have something that could be some fun.

What kind of aftermarket do these trucks have?

Whats your final thoughts on them?

I've only driven one in my lifetime. It was a 2003. Other than the engine the rest is all Xterra which I like a lot. It was fun to drive but I only drove it for a few mintues while doing a PDI on it.

Drivetrain and chassis-wise, they're the same as any other Gen 1 Xterra, and there is significant aftermarket available, but parts aren't cheap for Nissans.

The SCs tend to need replacement at 75k miles or so. Some last longer. Some not as long. Timing belts need replacement at 105k. 2002 was the only year you could get a 5 speed with the SC. Also, you have to run premium fuel in them, and they get terrible gas mileage - that's the price for 40 extra HP.

What year and how much you looking to spend? If your looking for something later model I'd look for an 05 or above. You get 265 horsepower over the 215 S/C and no tiiming belt to repalce ever. If you find any X with the S/C people end up replacing them at 100k plus the timing belt needs replacement at 60k.
