Thinking of ordering from Z1 Motorsports?

I used to think Z1 was THE place to go for 300ZX parts and service. Now on my 5th Z car, I've finally got to a point in my life where I could attempt "the build". Since I am located in GA, using Z1 as my vendor seemed like a no brainer, this was a decision I painfully regret.

How can 1 company get so much wrong??? I have NEVER had a relationship with a vendor that resulted in problem after problem after problem.

Call ahead to make sure parts are available for pickup - Go by next day only to wait 2.5 hours in their waiting room while my order is put together...

Tell the parts manager the Wiseco ring compressor is wrong size - Get told it is the right size only to go home and find out no, it was the wrong size...

Order a Haltech WB2 Dual Wideband Connector, get sent a Haltech WB1 Single Wideband harness...

Called ahead before making an order to ensure it is in stock and gets shipped out that day - Despite the confirmation from their steller employees, Z1 waits until the next day to ship my order...

After spending nearly $10,000 with this company you would think they would at least try and provide some sort of customer service. Spoiler they don't. If you want to trust your money with these monkeys, go ahead it's a free country. However I would strongly recommend using another supplier (like conceptz). Even if it takes longer to get your items, at least it will be correct and you may even be seen as a valuable customer for a change...

Sorry for your troubles, I sincerely hope that your case is an outlier or that they have someone on staff who is new and soon to not be there anymore because historically they have been very good to most who have worked with them. That said, it is not unheard of that changing of the guard causes empires to crumble.

My hopes were exactly as yours. Maybe the first few issues were just outliers, or even maybe they hired someone new who didn't really know the ropes yet. But here are the facts:

I have made 12 separate orders from Z1 since November of last year totaling $9,852.26! I have had at least 1 issue/problem with 6 of those orders. "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me 6 times out of 12, shame on me...". With the issues spanning over multiple orders and over 7 months, I have to believe that Z1's problems lie within their core and will not be fixed anytime soon.

I just kept thinking that maybe this problem would be the last; never again though!

I crossed off Z1 as my Z32 parts vender many many years ago; I've said it before and I'll keep on saying it "Z1 is useless". I believe all the Z club members here avoid them too. Sad to say but True.

On the flip side of the coin, I've made probably more orders than that in the past 6 months, for ballpark same amount, maybe a little more, and have had one issue with a part they sent, and it was remedied within 2 days. Sounds like you've just had bad luck.

I'll also toss in that I have made many many orders from Z1 over the years, and only two problems and both handled well: wrong O2's sent with an order were quickly re-sent after I confirmed I'd sent the bad ones back; and some silicone recirc hoses came wrong color and they quickly fixed that. I've saved SO much money buying from their sales and such that I will always consider them for my purchases, but then again I always contact them personally with my orders and try to be very careful to go over everything with them.
I will say that there always is the chance for issues when new/young/inexperienced people get involved with business, and it can go in cycles. No one's perfect but the PO's luck has NOT been good to be sure, and I don't begrudge him his choice of action as I always react the same from bad service.
