i was thinking instead of going turbo. since am in a budget(hence my name). i was thinking nitrous. i mean before i get flamed by the everyone and their mother hear me out. i know a stock ka24 can handle a 75 shot if instaled correctly and is not abused. i have the i-h-e, 255 fuel pump, among other things. a good friend of mine had much success with a 100 shot. i am planning to drag race and offcourse the ocational road racing. i just wanted to get your thoughts before i go ahead and make up my mind.

Why not, I would do a compression test and as long as your compression is good, see how you like it. The only problem with nitrous is that it runs out. Boost, never runs out of bottle.

i am also doing the white bunny clutch set up( an rb20 11lb flywheel and a stage 2 300zx exedy clutch). maybe even bc s2 cams. if everything goes well i should be seeing a 13 sec stock motor. maybe even 12s who knows

anyone and their grandma can turbo a car, it takes a real man to blow his floorpan out

I hope you didn't miss the sarcasm

Nothing wrong with using NaWZzz on your motor. I had an 80 shot kit on my KA before. It was just annoying because obviously it's not always readily there and it runs out. At 50 dollars a fill too, a turbo kit doesn't seem so bad after a while either. That's probably why no one ever builds a car to run solely on nitrous anymore. Too many other options out there.

Those are some pretty good times Flicktitty. Man sometimes I'd rather throw on my old suspension when I go down to the 1/4 mile track. Stance coilovers, OS Giken clutch, small 205 street tires and 17 lbs of boost is a b*tch to launch with. I could never manage to get my 60 ft time down under 2.100.

Yo go for it man, hell even go to 100 shot.

Those ka motors with nitrous is really fun, and not too terribly expensive either.

I thought about putting nitrous on mine before i got into anything serious with an engine rebuild.

i would really think a S13 coupe with a De full bolt on (I.H.E) a set of cams, nitrous kit, and something to tune it and some good tires would be fun. car would go easy low-mid 13's and that would run down most SR swaped and KA-T people around here.

thats what i am saying. maybe we really dont need to pay to play. i mean everyone is always looking at the most expensive way to make your car fast. my friend was running mid 13s on a 100 shot and some bolt-ons. i already got a fpr, 255 fp, msd coil 2, ngk spark wires, bf g's, flow tested injectors, and i-h-e in it among other things. a light flywheel and a clutch maybe some cams should put me in the 12s and thats with a stock motor. i dont know about you guys but i wouldnt want to lose to a stock ka with your semi-built sr...lol.. just a thought

U'll never see 12's with just those mods and nitrous. Mid-low 13's maybe, but youll need to build that motor and spray alot (like 125 shot or more) on it to go 12's.

i can do 125 maybe once but i rather keep it at 75. but seriously, with s2 bc cams and a bit retarded timing maybe -22 or -20 and slicks, i dont see why not 12s. i am getting the nx kit soon. i will keep you guys updated with the setup. any takers that want to go to raceway park in englishtown in a near future and race for fun?

12's is thinking very optimistically. I'm dynoed at 340 hp and I cant get into the 12's without slicks. You are gonna need alot more than a 75 shot and cams.

Like I said, build the motor for nitrous and spray a 150 shot on it and u might have a chance.

Seeing that the guy that was running 125 shot couldnt go faster than 13.7 then your not picking up .8 and running a 12.99 with slicks and less spray.

I ran a 13.06 and a 13.04 with 340 hp ( actually 339.7 hp) with 245/45r18s on the back spinning through first and second and most of third. But my car is also built to spin the tires not grip.

wat you are forgeting is that your car is turbo and you have to wait for spool. nitrous is instant power. also a buddy of mine got some slick laying around that i can probably use. am just hoping that i dont break anything...lol..but even if i get in the low 13s and not 12s i would be more than satisfied seeing that i only spent about 1/4 of the money that you did...
