Thinking of joining the National Guard...

Hello, I'm thinking of joining the National Guard for couple of reasons. You dont have to go away for couple of years like an army (which I prob wont be able to handle... for that long) 9 weeks of basic training and then the AIT depends on what kind of specialty you choose and then after that, 1 weekend a month doesnt sound too bad. Good benefits, will pay for my tuition, and I think its something that will do myself good.

Anybody else in National Guard? or know anyone in one? any inputs or opinions will be helpful, I'm still deciding to go, but most liekly WILL go but I just wanna know what some of you guys thouogh of it.
