well for starters i am thinking of going KA-T and looking at getting some opinions on how should do it.

like should i get a spare KA long block and build it up and swap it in when its done.

or can i just do it in a weekend wen i have all parts on hand and ready to go.

and some opions on what style turbo header to use? which header is better SSAC vs. peak performance?

i was also jsut thinking of running a stock SR20DET turbo (T25) is that a decent turbo for the KA or do i need to get a bigger turbo?

and what all do i need as far as the ECU goes will a SAFC work or should i get my ECU tuned by rs enthalpy?

sorry i know everyone has seen these post before but my computer wont load the search page, so sorry for my ignorance i just want to know what i am going to need before i get into this.

Your spare block idea is a good one, if you have the cash do that. It lets you work on the engine separately while you still have the ability to drive your car. Lower the compression of your engine, replace its timing chain, head gasket ect.

I have an SSAC manifold, and i would recommend against using it. After i saw the quality and heard the stories from NICO about people who used it, i upgraded to a better manifold. You could probably get away with using it for a while, but ultimately it is going to be your cars weak link. I have heard that the wastegate flange blows off the manifold under boost. (two separate occasions to the same person) However for the price....

A tuned ECU is your best option in my mind. While a SAFC is soo easy to use, you have to have an onboard wideband, or spend alot of money at a dyno and have them tune it for you. Also, with a SAFC you have no timing control, so you are limited to under 10 pounds of boost or so.

I have heard a t25 is pretty inefficient on a KA, the KA after all is a 2.4 liter. A t3-t4oe hybrid turbo is the best sized turbo for our engines.

Hope this helps..

like above, spare block is smart, AMS has a rebuild kit that seems would work great for you. I'd get a larger turbo, especially if ur rebuilding, you will be happier in the long run, I'd go for a t3/t4e or the AMS GT32 or GT33. That's personally me though. As for manifold I like JGS. good luck with ur build and s-afc will be fine for a little but while u have it get urself an ECU tune and the s-afc can work out any kinks in it. Good luck with ur project. Since it is daily driven and your not totally rebuilding u would pull off 300whp with the same turbos and have fun in a safe limit zone. Same stuff applies, just get a thicker head gasket (I rec. fel pro). Sorry for the scattered info.once again good luck.

Top end will suck, since it becomes a major restriction at high rpms.

Disco potato is still a little small GT2871r is good. Personally, if it were me, I would go with GT3076 or GT35r.

Seriously, check my sig, I am selling all of that gear (WG, turbo, dump, mani, intake, and oil lines/coolant lines) for 650, thats half of a turbo kit! You can buy the intercooler with BOV, and all for 1000.

Just look at the sig, so I don't have to advertise in here.
