I currently own a 92 240 hatch and I plan on selling it, but I also would like something with a little bit more...power?

anyways, I'm not a big fan of the Z31's (I was actually looking at a Z32 earlier today as well), but something sort of catches my eye about this one:

Z31:http://www.autobase.com/cgi/in...ordas

(The mileage on this is nearly unbelievable, btw.)

Z32:http://www.capecardeals.com/view/1081

I'm sure you'll all say go for the Z31 (because I'm in the classic Z section), but I just want to get some opinions on what exactly is a good deal and what isn't.

help a fellow NICO member out?

My advice is that if you want to own either a z31 or z32, that you really must love to work on your cars, because either will need it, and its really expensive to get any shop to do it for you. that being said, you should be able to pick up a nice z31 for a lot less than the near $5000 price tag of that orange one...

I got my 87 na auto for 1800 cash. granted it needed some mechanical work, the interior and exterior are in really good shape for a 20 year old car.

you should even be able to pick up a turbo z31 in good shape for less than 4k.

if you get a z32 and want power, dont settle for anything less than the TT model. My stock KA s14 was dead even (and even started to pull a little) on my buddies 93 NA z. Plus the TT swap to a na z32 is said to be expensive and quite a pain in the ***.

Turboing a na z31 is a little easier, parts are much cheaper, but like i said before you need to be prepared to work on the car. In the end it's probably easier to just pick up a turbo model than to have to worry about converting a NA one over.

but either are really fun cars to drive. I'd lean more towards the z31, but you have to make your own choice on that.

Both are a little overpriced, I'd say. for the price either of those, you could get a really nice turbo z31.

I vote for neither

that 87 is a color I've never seen, most likely a respray, and while the miles are low that is a premium price for an n/a Z31, and if it's been resprayed why? looks like a decent job from the pic's but there are no underhood pic's did they paint there as well?

the Z32 "shift knob" cracked me up, looks like someone got a piece fo bar stock and threaded it to make their own, looks realy retarded, and also seems like a kinda steep price for an n/a

seeing as both cars you are looking at are n/a's I'm guessing perfromance isn't something your are weighing? the Z32 of course offers more perfromance in every area in stock form but the Z31 would be much cheaper to modify for a radical build, the Z32 does also come stock with a VLSD, only the 87.5-89 Turbo Z31's fgot factory LSD

the Z32 is a more spacious comfortable cruiser, but upkeep and maintenance on the Z32 will cost you a lot more

the Z32 is still depreciating, the Z31's seem to be on an upswing

the Z31 is far easier to work on if you are into your own maintenance adn repairsI highly recomend you drive both cars and get a feel for them, and decide which is the better fit for you

I say neither of those two as well.

I'd recommend a Z32 over a Z31 any day though.

the z31 says sold on the site and the z32 is a 2+2... id say keep your car for now and save up some then buy the right z32 when you get the cash....go with a TT z32

the z33 can be a real bargain, and if you get an older model it has already taken the biggest part of the depreciation, and plenty of aftermarket if it's not quite enough
