Right now im driving my 95 Q45, and I've been looking at many cars, I have a little over 20k to spend and want to get a G35, I love my car and it's help up quite nice, 200k miles now. I was wondering if I have anything to worry about as far as reliability or things like that. I really like these cars and with the money I probably should look at getting a brand new car but I have to like what I drive, I just want to make sure it's going to last like my Q has.

Thanks

I think it will... most problems people have are more annoying than anything, like rattles and things like that.....

Id hang onto the Q too

Why do you think an entry level car will last as well as a top of the line model..........selling for 30k compares with a 50k x 1.40= [inflation] = 70K Q if such existed today.

The shining star of the G35 is that the R5 transmission is the same [M45, Q45, Fx45]...........everything else is built to a price point appropriate to the entry level.

A fairer comparison might be the J30 vs G35......lighter duty components inline with 6 cylinder engine and reduced weight.

no way a g35 will be as durable as the overbuilt g50- the g35,I35,m,and even the new q have obviously been built much cheaper to sell at their price points-compare a new q to a 90-96,it feels and looks cheaper just sitting in it in the showroom-one of the reasons no-one seriously considers it when shopping for a top teir luxury sedan.

So whats the verdict here, like I would be getting the car with 30k-40k miles. Is that going to last me for like 4 years without major problems or am I gonna be in the shop every week with little things here and there. I plan on getting the extended supreme warranty or whatever it's called which is 60,000 miles, I guess my question should have been asked differently. Have any of you guys had that many problems and has the car been hassle free, or would you reccomend something else?
