hey guys, i've already got an sr red top into a 90 s13, but i've been throwing around the idea of buying a bare block, and building it up for around 500 whp.

Im trying to think of any of the little pieces the engine requires that are hard to find, something that some obscure company makes....something...anything.

If i dont have to go looking under every rock for little parts, I'll do it.

stock sr20det bottom end can withstand 500hp already. and if you know what makes up a bottom end then you know what you need to buy. All of the parts are out there just search around

i wouldnt trust a stock bottom end that much. not for long at least. i'd much rather over do it, then always second guess it. I know what it needs, i just wanted to make sure nothing out of the oridnary was hard to get.

interms of forged internals like rods and pistons, they are readily available. CP, JE, Eagle, BC, Crower, etc etc

Aftermarket and OEM bearings are also readily available as they share the same part as a SR20DE found in sentras.

yeah engine builds are always very exciting. I only enjoy them if im not pressed for time as I can be very anal retentive about everything which results in a good build. However, if Im rushing through things, it becomes more of a chore than anything else.

GL with the build.
