Im thinking of buying this 08 m35 with 108k miles for around $19k. The ad said that it have technology and journey package. Is this a good deal? I also went to look at another 08 m35 yesterday with 95k miles. I felt I could also get that for around 19k but the rear bumper and taillight had a small crack.
what package comes with the rear display? I thought once it have the rear av input, it would also have dvd.
What problems do I have to look out for at these high mileage?

Personally I can't ever imagine buying a 4 year old car, any car, with that many miles. I bought my 2008 M35x last year with 25000 miles and was adamant that I wouldn't buy one with more than 30000 miles.

Good luck with your search.

By the way, is that all that you can find, M's with high mileage are is the $19000 the sticking point for you?

I would search for maintenance records, specifically coolant flush interval, transmission service/flush intervals and precise engine oil changes regularly!! If those have been done, these cars do go for a long time without major issues like overheating or transmission issues... Good luck on your search! I think they would have to be fully loaded for that price as well IMO :gotme

Even if you run into problems, the price difference between a newer M with less miles and an older one with higher miles will probably be more than the total cost of repairs if something was to go wrong...
IF the previous owner took care of the vehicle. Whenever I buy a used vehicle, the first thing that I do is change all of the fluids (engine, transmission, diff, coolant, brakes, and power steering if steering feels off)

Personally, I try to buy vehicles that have remaining warranty in case something was to come up... but I have bought some out of warranty with no issues throughout the years of ownership.
Check for brake pulsation, engine knock, rough idle, hesitations when going from a stop, alignment if the car pulls to one side, or anything else abnormal. If something doesn't feel right, I would walk away. Good luck! These Ms are solid overall.

Seems a little high with that mileage. I have purchased all my vehicles used. Make sure when you search cars.com, autotrader, ebay.com, cargurus.com, craigslist.com, etc, that you are extend your search radius. A much better deal may be closer than you think! Good luck on your search!

What city are you located in? Maybe we can help you find a better deal!

Im located in NYC.
The AD said it came with technology and journey package. I called this morning and I was told it was sold. He also said he have another m available. I will go around 7pm to check it out. I bought my 98 es300 5yrs ago with 117k miles. I have 145k miles today and it is still going strong. I have not read any major issues with the m35 so im not afraid of 100k miles. My spending limit went up from $15k to 20k. I was first thinking about a 4dr g35 06-07

I just came back from looking at the other car. He said the car was loaded. what I did notice was adaptive cruise sensor up front, dvd player, aux input at the back, and speakers in the seat. He also said it have lane assist. I was expecting a monitor in the ceiling since he said it was loaded. It have less than 90k miles. I drove it on the highway and it felt good. The suspension felt hard for a luxury car. This concern me because I am planning on putting 20" and tein H springs. I am going to run the vin at carfax

The sport does have a stiffer suspension but if you go to 20" it won't be much different... The struts/shocks are the same if it's a luxury or sport model, only thing that changes are the stiffer springs. If you go to eibach or Tien you should be fine! Also, the monitor in the roof is in the optional rear ent. Package or the premium package only. Not part of the adv. Tech package alone. I have it in my 08 sport. In my opinion this car you saw is good as far as loaded options... Now look at mechanical condition. Good luck!! :bigthumb:

The features you describe are indeed top of the line. I would consider your car loaded as those items added, what, like $20,000 onto the base model price.

The only thing missing would be the rear monitor (useless waste of money), rear power seats & shade (which only came with the Premium package).

Man, you can buy my 06 45 for 16k, lol. Price seems about right though, for NY. I seen some here in Daygo for around that. Also dvd system sucks anyway. Save your money and add your own customized to your liking. Good luck

I plan to go pick it up today after work. I plan to start taking it apart the day I get it, so I could start customizing. I thought behind the cd slot was a cd changer. My intention was to remove that and put a 7 or 8" screen, but then I read a topic on how to install the grom adapter. Now I realize that is the radio. Now I am trying to figure out a way to put a second screen up front.

also I made a mistake and bought c rfax unlimited and all I wanted was one vin check.

Congrats!
You'll love it. I missed my first one, so I ended up getting another one a few weeks ago.
By the way, would you mind running some carfax reports for me? My wife is looking for either an M45 or a 5 series. ;)
