Even if you run into problems, the price difference between a newer M with less miles and an older one with higher miles will probably be more than the total cost of repairs if something was to go wrong...
IF the previous owner took care of the vehicle. Whenever I buy a used vehicle, the first thing that I do is change all of the fluids (engine, transmission, diff, coolant, brakes, and power steering if steering feels off)
Personally, I try to buy vehicles that have remaining warranty in case something was to come up... but I have bought some out of warranty with no issues throughout the years of ownership.
Check for brake pulsation, engine knock, rough idle, hesitations when going from a stop, alignment if the car pulls to one side, or anything else abnormal. If something doesn't feel right, I would walk away. Good luck! These Ms are solid overall.
