Are there any insurence rate hikes, saftey issues, etc. associated with a motorcycle that has a salvage title?

can't answer your question, but there are some nice (to me) bikes in PA on cycletrader, 1980 Honda CBX, Suzuki TL, etc. i also noticed there is a 98 FZR with a salvage title, is that why you asked the question?

anyways, if you really want a sportbike, get an early to mid 90's bike. not too expensive, not quite as fast, and tons of mods. if you want a new R6, but think it might be bad to learn on i have a solution:

buy the R6, but don't ride it. i'll ride my 600lb 1981 Suzuki GS850G (my first bike) up to PA and trade bikes until you are comfortable riding a bike. i do realize the GS is probably not a good beginner bike, but neither is the R6. i'll break in your R6 and make sure it runs properly and the battery doesn't die from sitting. sounds like a good idea to me.

I have seen like 800 (ok maybe more like 8 or 9) nice CBR600F4's with salvage titles on line that are near where i live.

As far as your "solution", i can do that, as long as you give me a 7000 loan with no garentee that ill pay you back ;)

The only bennifit of the CBR over the YZF is comfort of riding position. The F4 is a little bit better on the back. If you are doing commuting, I would say the F4.

If you haven't seen the SV, at least let me show you some pictures.

http://www.sv650.org/pic1/page4.htmhttp ... page28.htm

these are the 650 and 650S models.Below is one in full race set up. Aftermarket Sharkskinz race fairings.http://www.sv650.org/pic1/page11.htmhtt ... page10.htm

If your heart is set on the R6 or F4 that's cool. But I have to do my part as a loyal Suzuki rider to try and convince you other wise. I will stop harping on the SV now.

There are two really good, and faiir motorscycle shops near me. You can get to them by taking 95 and getting off at the street road exit. THey are both on bristol Pike. and they are called , East Coast cycle ( honda dealer but sells used everything), and Suzuki fun center (yamaha, suzuki, kawasaki). and both are within a stones throw from each other, so if you want to check out all differnt kinds of bikes you don't have to go to far.

Also you can check in the trading times, or the sellit in your wawa. Thats where I got my intercepter from.

let me start off first by saying that me and my dad don't tell my mom alot of stuff because she freaks out. Soo with that in mind we bought the intercepter and fixed it up, and didn't tell her a word about it. So while she was down the shore i drove it home everyday and all around. And one day i was home with the bike and she came back from the shore early and saw it. Woohoo was she pissed. my dad got most of the heat but we had to sell the bike. I thought i had some pics of it but i can;t seem to find them right now. But before the intercepter we had a 84 or 83 Kawaski ninja. It was a sweet bike that was laid down by a guy we knew so it need some touching up. I think it was about $1200. anyways we had it from when i was 15 till about 17 , then we sold it to pay for our MGB restoration project. the pic is a digital pic of a normal picture of the ninja parked outside our shop.

the other three bikes are a honda scrambler, a kawaski kx 750( i think) and then the ninja. my old man sold the other two when i was about 15 so i never really was around them much.

Also imagine how pissed my mom will be when she finds out about my 240 :)
