Hi i live in Scarborough, Canada and my family is thinking of buying a nissan Rogue AWD SL with premium, were thinking of getting the leather option with tech package.

I was wondering what people have paid been paying for these babies?

I know there is 3500 cash incentive, i would love to gain your insight in purchasing one of these.

Are there any dealerships or sales people you would recommend, should i mention your name?

Please any information would help alot.

you can get up to $3500 off IF u purchase it fully in CASH so no financing part of it or anything like that it must be 100% cash purchase

The $500 rebate is for any Rogue that are either leased/financed.

Thanks Harry for the info.

I financed my Rogue through the dealership. Can you please tell me how I can get the $500 rebate. The dealership where I got my Rogue from did not tell me about this. Do I deal directly with Nissan Canada? Is there a website somewhere where this $500 rebate is mentioned? I haven't received anything yet in the mail from Nissan Canada about this incentive/rebate program. I think I'm going to give them a call first thing in the morning. Any advance information would be highly appreciated. Thanks.

Prices reported in many of the threads in this forum seem to be all over the place depending on how prepared the buyer was when they entered the dealership, whether or not they had a trade-in, how well there were able to negotiate, if they let the dealership arrange financing, if they paid cash etc.

NOTE: If you have a trade-in DO NOT tell the dealer when you are negotiating the deal. Instead, work the deal as hard as you can ,, get them to their rock bottom price. (FYI: You know you have them as low as they will go when they will let you walk out without selling you a car). When you have them at the rock bottom price, "then" tell them... "Now that I think about it I 'd like to trade in my old car". Doing it this way lets you know exactly how much you are really getting for your trade-in. If you don't do it this way... you trade-in price might sound really sweet but any amount over your cars wholesale value is worked into the dealer markup on the car you are trying to buy. In other words you won't be able to get the price as low with a trade-in because they need the extra water (dollars) to artificially inflate the amount they are giving you for your trade. I've sold plenty of cars over the years so trust me on this one. The only problem with doing it this way is you probably won't like the amount they will offer you for your trade. Your best bet is to always sell your old car on your own.

Anyway... I wrote up a rather detailed price guide (what you should pay) in another thread. Here's the link... (14th post down from the top)

zer...rogue

Using it as a guide you should be able to get a sweet deal. Even more so with the $3500 cash incentive!

so the $500 rebate is for any buyer of nissan rogue through finance. it's not the one they're offering to new grads. is their a webpage on the nissan canada website about this rebate. i can't seem to find it.

also keep in mind the amount of rebate the dealer can give u changes every month so they may not be offering the $500's and may have changed it to $3000 cash purchase or left it the same price discount we bought ours on april 30th

Don't know if it will make anybody feel any better, but we purchased our Rogue (in the US) on May 8th. During the negotiation process I asked what advantage I would have if I paid cash. The sales manager replied... "You won't have to make monthly payments." After he stopped laughing at his own joke, I told him I was serious. He said their was nothing in it for him regardless of how I paid for the car. I payed cash and never saw any form of incentive, kickback or rebate for the doing it.

That said I id purchased mine during the Nissan May Tent event, got a sweet deal and a $1250 cash rebate. But... a $3000 incentive for a cash purchase sounds a whole lot better! Oh well.. water under the bridge.. spilled milk and all that nonsense. I love my Rogue and am not going to loose any sleep over what might have been.

Yeah I've heard completely different stories regarding the "cash payment advantage". I think it was the Mitsubishi guy who basically gave me the same reaction, laughed at me and said he didn't care how I paid. Nissan and Hyundai on the other hand were opposite, they said there definately WAS a benefit to paying cash, that they preferred this because they got all their money immediately rather than having to wait 5 years for you to pay it off. I think it depends on who the financing goes through. If the dealer finances it themselves like GM does, then they'd prefer you to finance because they get the interest and you end up paying way more for the car. If they farm out the financing like my Nissan dealership does, then they'd prefer to have the cash and if you pay cash they're more willing to deal. I got them to knock off around $3 grand from MSRP, not sure how much was because I was paying cash but it definatley seemed to help.
