okay so tomorrow I am going to look at a 87 starion widebody Turbo, with a second conquest parts car included.
The car has 167,xxx miles on it and is pushing 10psi
All for 1800 bucks
He said the car has overheated a little because of a pin size hole in the radiator.
Which leaves me to believe its a head gasket...
Please dont flame me for considering a mitsu *I ownded 2 3000gts* but what do you guys think?

As car enthusiasts I need an honest opinion. Is it a good deal, could I make a profit on it. Or would I just be wasting my money?

I am ready to park my z32 and do some real mods to and just daily the starion!!!!

Thanks a million guys! Dont hold back anything. I want honest opinions!!!

uh, this is a Z forum?

I'm not a mitsu fan but I have been autocrossing a buds evo 10 with pretty good results (wierd to drive but fast, 4th in raw sort at the last event, with room to improve!)

anyhow, the sterion/conquest is a fairly underappreciated car, the biggest issue to making real power from that car is the crappy throttle body injection system, there used to be someonewho made a multipoint manifold but you still had to figure out the fueling issues on your own

the upside is they are cheap because noone really knows about them, they were a limited run vehicle, and there was no real aftermarket support for them, the downside is there is no real support for them

as for parting them out, i'm sure there si a starion site somewhere and I'm sure lot of little items iare in demand, otherwise the intercoolers from the tsi models and the wheels are polular with the older z crowd but at last check the intercooler brings 50-75 and the wheels can bring around 200

I like them, a buddy of mine used a larger inter-cooler from some form of early Dodge shelby. Cool cars but not a strong following from enthusiast or aftermarket. Only you can determine if its worth it, look for rust in the hatch and shock mounts along with the frame rails. Head gaskets are a common issue, look for a AJUSA Metal head gasket- the best you could get, unless you enjoy doing head gaskets.Find out if the clutch fork arm has been replaced, my friend had two break within a month and re wielded one and had it heat treated for extra strength. good luck and post pics.

This guy is pretty smart with those cars. Only place Tim would use.
