There is this 2003 M45 with 72K miles. I think it has all the options: Nav, Heated and cool seats, chrome wheels....My question is since it's out of warranty and it's not at a Infiniti Dealer what should I look for? I looked for a puff of smoke at cold startup, none. The rear trunk stays up. For $15,500, I'm thinking it's a good deal, this is the price I got them down to. There are asking $17000. I currently drive a 2000 BMW 740IL and my wife drives an Infiniti G35X. Probably the only thing I didn't like about this car was the gauges, just like my wife's G35X. Is it worth paying more for a M45 under warrarty with less options??

Oh, one other feature this car has. It has bluetooth hooked up. I tested it with my treo 650 and it worked, only took 30 seconds to setup. Pretty cool.

$15.5 is a steal, and that's not really a lot of miles.

KBB for that car is $26,500 if it's in excellent condition.

In fact, there may even be an aftermarket warranty company that will cover it through 100K miles.

Seems like a nice deal to me - I'd definitely do it. Set aside $1K, take it to a dealer and have the 75K service done.

Is it just me or is this website having problems??

Anyway, that what I was thinking. That it's a pretty good deal, then I thought I could spend a little more $$ and buy one with 45K miles with less options. If I call an Infiniti dealer would they be able to tell me the service history of this car?? If not, you wouldn't be scared to purchase this car without the service history and no warranty? I really want to buy this car but I'm just a little scared about the mileage and transmission and oil consumption..

Any dealer can give you the service history.

I just ran a national search on AutoTrader, there are a few priced close to that region but all have higher miles.

Run a Carfax as well.

The market on those cars is pretty soft - there are 300+ for sale right now nationally, which isn't good for resale on a single-year car with a big V8.

I was told by two different infiniti dealers that it's a state law that they can't give out Service History on a car. Only if you are the original owner. I live in Illinois. Here the VIN: JNKAY41E53M003745, if someone can provide me any information about this car that would be great. CarFax too.

Hmmm ... very unusual law. I would have expected it in nutty California where I live, but not Illinois! You could try calling Infiniti Corporate and see if they will help ... not likely, but worth a try!

Hope someone can help, but, unfortunately, I certainly do not have any Carfax access. Maybe the Infiniti dealers can at least run this for you!

I'll get a CarFax tonight when I go back, but it would be nice to have it before and also all the service records? Do you guys know how to read the VIN and determine what options are on the car?

Unfortunately, the VIN does not have any way to tell what options are on the car. Just basic information about the year/location of manufacture, whether it is a four door (all 03/04 M45's are 4 door, so that is a waste), etc.
