Im looking at an 07 2.5 Altima CVT. Price is $12695, is CPO with 3.5 years left on the warranty, and has 51k miles on it.

They offered me the CPO wrap warranty for $1840, and trying to decide if its worth it. It was just inspected and passed CPO, so nothing should be wrong now, and with there only being 3.5 years till the warranty expires, doesnt seem like good value. Anyone know of any high failure rate things that it would cover to make it worth it?
Getting it added in the loan brings me up almost $30 a month.

The car has decent dealer all weather tires. About 70-80% tread. I live in NE Ohio, and this winter hasnt been the best. Figures when I drove it, the streets were clean. Any comments on how it would do in snowy/ice conditions, and if I should factor in a set of snow tires or not? If so, any suggestions for good ones for this car, around $500?

Anything else I should look out for? The CVT sounded kind of louder then I think it should be, but Ive never driven any besides a 2010 Rogue. It was loud as well, but not nearly as noticeable.

And lastly, can anyone comment on how good or bad the sound insolation is? I plan on putting in much better speakers/stereo.

Find out what kind of tires are on there and either post them up here, or research them yourself on tire rack or something. They should have a snow rating. The car should do fine in the snow (as long as its not too crazy) with a decent set of all season tires.

IIRC, the factory warranty on the CVT was raised to 120,000 miles. You should inquire about that. Are you buying from a Nissan dealership, or 3rd party dealership?

You could ask for new tires as part of the deal. Preferably a name anybody's heard of. ;)

this is just my 2 cents, ask your self why do i want this car, looks, performance, both.is it looks then that sounds like a fair price for the 2.5 coupe(ask for new tires they will give them to you).performance in the long run you will not be happy.performance go with a 3.5 MT if possable.i can say this because i have both,a 07 2.5 sedan and a 08 3.5 MT coupe.

Getting it because I like Altimas in general, and its the only real option around aside from cars that I really dont want. Cant go with a coupe, and 3.5 would eat too much gas.

They arent going to put in the tires. $12695 is as low as they will go as well. Ive scraped the idea of the warranty though, the normal CPO should be fine. When thats up, they sell a 3 year bumper to bumper for $1500 I could get.

if you cant find out who made those tires, dont trust them and buy new ones. for all i know they may be some chinese made ones (not sure if the U.S wont take them now).

Im back to being undecided on the warranty. Its $1495, comes to a $25 a month difference. Are there any common issues that makes it worth it? The main thing I was considering is the CPO has a $50 deductable, and the wrap is $0.

Got it today.
Its pretty nice. Few things Im dissapointed about, but overall I think it was worth it. For starters when I went before to look at it, it was covered in ice/snow/salt, so now that its clean, I can see all the little scratches and buffs. What really surprised me is when I got there, there was a dime size rust spot, a fair few layers deep, in the center of the back passanger side door
That wasnt there when I test drove it, and must have formed in the last week somehow. Anyway, repainting the whole door would have cost them too much, and rust is only covered by warranty if it goes all the way through, so they just did a quick spot job on it. Cant tell from far back, but around 4ft or so and you can see it.

Its a HUGE change going from an SUV back to a car though. The Rogue I could drive really relaxed, and wasnt nearly as touchy. Just been so long since I drove a car, I got to get used to it again. Mostly there now though. Drove a good 60 miles today. Really want to get another auto-dimming review mirror though. I miss that and the back up camera more then anything else.

Ill probably make a new thread soon with pics and any questions. Thanks.
