Hey everyone,

I've been on the forum for a bit but I don't post too much. I currently have an 02 Altima 3.5 SE with some mods approacing 190KM. I feel it's time for an upgrade, as much as I love the Altima I've got the itch for something newwer.

I'm a die hard Nissan/Infiniti guy so I wanted to keep it in the family and went and took a look at an 06 Infiniti G35x now I love the car and everything but before I go ahead, I wanted to see if there is anything I should specifically be looking for on the car aka more common issues or problems because lets face it, no car is perfect.

Thanks!

Sounds like you know the basics - look for service records, signs of abuse, etc....
Since the G35X isn't a stick, you shouldn't have the oil consumption issue.
Just the gas consumption issue! :chuckle:
But, since it is a G35 SEDAN and not a COUPE or G37, you are not strapped by the need for Premium which is a good thing if we have another shortage of Prem.

Rear brake pads wear out faster than what I would expect.
Belts start cracking (40K) faster than what I would expect.
both VERY small issues.....
I loved our 05. Think it had a sportier feel than our 08. (06 is basically same as 05).
And, have LOVED the X in the snow!!!!! :naughty:
Also, a recent mag. found that the X was faster than the non-X in the wet and DRY slaloms. :yesnod
So, if you find one is great shape, I would say pull the trigger! :yesnod

had my 2005 G35x for about 2 years, it gave me no problems and i drove it hard and tracked it many times. I will agree brakes will be your only sore spot with maintence. my only other issue was a dead battery once. As long as the car has been maintained by the previous owner you should get any major problems out of the g35x. Thus i brought the G37x... GREAT CARS!!!
