Hello all, I have a few questions for you. I just kinda got the idea the other night that it would be amazing to put a ca in my s14. So I searced it and found one thread but it didn't have the info I was looking for. So what I am asking is:

Where did you buy your ca?

How hard is it to swap into an s14?

Is it hard to find parts for the ca?

Is it dependable?

With a few light bolt ons, how much power could I make( I want a dependable Daily)

What bolt-ons do you recomend?

Any other comments or advice would be great! Sorry for the newbish ?'s but I'm new to the ca. Thanks Guys!

Question 1: I building mine from other engines.... CA20E block, CA18DE NX head, Ca18DET S13 ECU, Pulsar NX CA18DE/KA24E hybrid harness, Tomei cams, Puater rods for the CA20E, Arias Pistons (Custom made to fit the head on the block with the correct Comp. ratio) , Crank (Fitted) girdle from the KA24E, CA20E Ignition system......(Spark plugs and dist.) CA20E crank Cryo treated and micro polished, KA24E transmission with a CA20E bellhousing on it, ka24e transmission harness with ka24de speed sensor.

Question2: Would be as hard as putting an S13 SR in an S14, especially if its an obd2 car and has anti-lock brakes.

Question3: I am a major importer of ca18det parts, so no!

Question4: Depends, its either a 16 or a 17 year old engine......Could need a freshening.

Question4: You can do 250-275 with a turbo upgrade and basic bolt ons....

Hope that helps....

yes, that helped a lot. So about the parts, you import them and sell them?Thats one thing holding me b/c everyone says parts are so hard to come across.

I would probbly go ahead and do a full rebuild before install, so it would be fresh.

And do you guys daily drive your ca's? How do they do?

I can get basicly anything you need in the 3 major brands for CA's which is Tomei and HKS and Toda, as far as stock parts go such as water pumps etc, i can get them, I just buy directly from an aftermarket OEM replacement parts source from japan......

Im not supposed to advertise until I sign up for advertising rights so please keep it on the hush hush until i pay my advertising fee's......

Replacement parts and maintenance items are actually pretty easy to find. Or at least most of em are. Between the Nissan Pulsar Se's and the 200sx ca18et's, you can find just about anything you're looking for, because most of their parts will go right onto our det's.

Aftermarket parts arent quite as easy to find as SR parts, but it's still not too bad. Tomei cams, valvesprings, and sprockets are all available on ebay now. Most t2 flanged turbos are bolt on. SR downpipe and outlet will fit right on t25/t28's. SR exhausts work. RaceEng stocks CP pistons and rings. There are a few people on here that build custom intake manifolds per request. Ka24 clutches work for our transmission's, or spec makes ca18det clutches. There is a ton of info in our sticky's. Even an extensive parts number list for crossover parts.

I do believe there was an s14 with a ca18 featured on Enjuku's website for a while. I don't know how close you are to them, but you might give them a call for wiring or other misc. things.
