I've purchased a stage 2 water methanol kit from snow performance for my m56s

Any thoughts or advice?

Can't say I've ever seen anyone use it on a non boosted engine. I can't see it being worth the money. On a turbo car it can add some decent power and safety. On a NA car cant see it allowing any substantial power. You'll also have to change your oil more often.

With e85 so readily available boosted cars don't run these that much anymore either.

In retrospect, Title could be in bad taste to some. Apologies to any offended folks. Now back to the subject...
In Texas it's so hot that I was banking on the intake air temp would get cooler, as well as the cylinders. I've read time after time, here, and other places that the ecu in the m56 hates heat. So I'm thinking the h2o methanol will cause the computer to think it's colder and increase timing? It's a long shot I suppose. But I'm seriously considering putting a 75 to 150 shot of nitrous kit on the car. Since there is not much else available for this platform...

That makes sense to think that but I don't think it will work in practice. It's likely going to be injected past the point where the sensor is so the charge will be colder but the computer won't know it is. Dfw ... idea of the colder thermostat and resistor for iat would probably be better and cheaper

If you're going nitrous you got your charge cooling right there.

Dred, I understood your all your post, except the last line. Do you mean the injection kit is good for cooling with nitrous or that nitrous will be cooling on its own?

The nitrous itself has a cooling effect. But it's inconsequential the power is from the oxygen in the nitrous. Nitrous is much more worth while mod you are going to get the power for sure. I think the meth is a waste of money on our cars basically. It's only really useful even on boosted cars if you don't have access to good fuel or don't have a proper fuel system and still want some more boost on pump.
