RX7's are nice but i think they still want too much for them, I would own one as well, but i wouldn't give up my Z for one.But the rotary engine in those are real nice from what I've read and heard from friends.I would also own a Supra if they didn't want my first born for a decent one.

Nice cars if you have the money to put into it.

They are not reliable whatsoever and they cost a fortune to work on, but beyond that, they are great cars. I would definately not trade a Z for one lol.

Rotary motors are basically becoming a thing of the past now adays. Everyone that i know with an FD is doing an LS1 swap, or already has one done. It'll run a good amount of money to do the swap, the car would be very quick, especially with a built LS1 (tons of aftermarket applications), but then again it loses its aura of being a rotary powered car. and also the weight distribution is thrown off.Other than that i've been in high horsepowered A-Spec Tuned FD's with single turbo set-ups, and well they're just monsters if they don't break down on you.

I've been a long time fan of the rotary engine, as a matter of a fact I've written a couple papers for my engineering classes that argue it is not given enough credit. As everyone else has said, it does take up a lot of money to work on it much less maintain it. Everyone I know that has had a rotary car has had to replace at least one rotor apex, even on the newer RX8.

If you believe the price has come down enough for you, then get it if you really want it. I would have to agree with tg in the fact that I would not trade my Z for an RX7 in the same (maybe even better) condition.

I hope you know how to fix a rotary engine yourself because there are very few mechanics around that still work on them or will do a good job working on them... ... and from what ive heard they are prone to oil leaks, and breakdowns.... but on the upside a properly tuned rotary sounds fuggin sweet get it but dont trade ur z

i had a 1987 non-turbo RX7 -- even without turbo -- fast -- that was before i knew about spending lots of $$ on aftermarket parts, etc -- but it IS expensive to work on -- and not as near as reliable as my nissan 300zx -- if it is the lastest model before the RX8 it is a nice looking ride !

I like the fiorst gen RX7's, the problem is yoou get the rotary experience, you either learn to build rotary's, befriend or pay someone to work on rotary's or you have a broken rotary, I know quite a few rotary guys and they all fit one of those classes or more as half of them have a non functioning rotary waiting on the rotary expert to find the time to fix theirs

the FD is a good looking car with performance similar to the TT, and the RX8 I find to be hideous, if oyu have to patience they do have their folowing, me I like pistons and valves

rx8's are slow as aids!! i test drove a manual rx8 and it was slower than my na z... and those things are suposed to be the perfected rotary... maybe they fixed the longevity issues... but that car is slower than the na FD sooo.... im not sure y anyone would be hyped bout them...

are they even FR?
