Search for some posts by Riswicki and Jeff Williams. They both did some exhaust work. Heck I think even Jesda had his "suitcase" removed, but finding any "single post" by him will be difficult .

Just unbolt it from the headers and see how it sounds. Jeff did an x pipe that you could almost see straight through.

I'm running true duals on mine. I cut the exhaust off right behind the cats and ran duals from there. So i just have the stock 4 cats on, no more resonators or suitcase. I cut a hole in my back bumper just like the stock cut out. In my opinion it looks good and its sounds amazing. With overdrive off driving around town it sounds great.

Also don't buy a cat back or somthin like that, it's much cheaper to piece your exhaust together. Duals from the cats back plus the tips was $240 for me.

not sure where you read "c.c." but judging by the context of the conversation:

c.c. = catalytic converter

just cut off the suticase muffler and the resonators. then from there run true duals or throw on a y pipe whatever you prefer.

Luckily 274 cubic inches doesn't produce much gas flow [exhaust], so difficult for many homebrewed solutions to cause much power drop.

A good rule of thumb is 1.5 exhaust cfm per horsepower, remember the mass of air + mass of fuel must be combined.

Seconded.

Another NICO also member combined them into one big straight pipe (four inches?) and it sounded evil.

personally I think the best bet is to cut the stock resonators off, take the suitcase off and replace it with some dual in/dual out muffler...

kind of but not really...because if you run from the cuts back it eliminates the x pipe and eliminates the dual in dual out suitcase...so after you get rid of that stuff and run the piping it is true duals..but even if ya say it is like stock, it sounds so much better because you can actually hear the v8...no more grandma cruiser
