Thinking about purchasing an 04 G Coupe - thoughts, carfax?

Been a longtime lurker, first time poster. Thanks to Nicoclub, I've kept my 96' I30 on the road for 250k miles....but the time has come to put her to pasture and have some fun.

I'm looking at a 2004 G35 coupe 6mt w/ 60k on it from a private seller. It looks like it has the sport package, factory nav, brembo and slotted rotors, and has new tires, clutch, and belts...overall in excellent shape and the owner has documentation for all maintenance. He's asking $14.5k which is under KBB private party.

Just wondering what the club thinks of this potential purchase. I also read that the 06 had oil consumption issues, so I'm trying to figure out if there's any big issues with the 04 G coupe that I should look out for. Also, if anyone is willing....I'd be grateful to know if there's anything on carfax [JNKCV54E74M827217]. Thanks!

04-07 had oil consumption issues. 60k miles for 14.5k is a good price. after all it is a v6 coupe.

Go over and check it out. Seems pretty legit.

They had more noted consumption issues but the current lineup has some as well.

Thanks for the replies. I didn't realize that Nissan/Infiniti had oil consumption issues through so many model years! I'm hoping I get lucky. Gonna take it for a spin tomorrow....wheeee!

I'm confused about the odometer reading at last emission's test...80k in 2008 and 60k in 2010? Lucy...you've got some xplainin' to do!

Thanks everyone. I decided to pass on this one. Supposedly a typo at the emission's test (makes sense unless he took a job for a year as a cross-country delivery driver), but found that his records were less than complete. Pretty sure when the car is registered, Carfax and Autocheck will throw a Odometer Rollback warning on the report decreasing trade/sale value. There was also a deep scratch across three side panels on the driver's side that I couldn't live with....

As such...the search continues. Hoping my I30 can make it till I find the right one....
