Well, the next school semseter is coming up, and I am thinking about what i want to do, car wise. Gettign the CA running has been an ongoing process, which has left me broke, and spending alot of time fixing things. I was wondering what I could get for the car; I am gettign a small loan for a commuter car i can use, and Am wondering, Is this what i really want as my project car? Just thinking. Heres some specs, what do you think I could get for it?

1992 Green 240 hatch212,000 miles on Chassisabout 1,000 miles on motornew -ringsheadgaskettiming beltetc, etc...

Dee sold me the motor, it is a rebuilt CA18DE with DET internals

It has a new alternator, new water pump, umm, I think hat is it for the engine.

Chassis has a new radiator, new brakes (within the last year)

It needs a new PS rack( it leaks all the PS fluid out), if a RHD steerign rack will work, I have a spare.

I am just tired of rubber fittings poping off, the smoking ( turbo needs rebuilt) theres a small oil leak, just the little things. What do you guys think?

For a car with that many problems...no more than $2000 is what I would spend. I honestly would pay more for a running KA car. Sorry man.

Yea, I know. Thats the problem, The car needs finished. I hate to let it sit for a while, But I think that is goign to be what happens. Some things need redone, leaks fixed, time consuming things. I would like an 86 ( always liked them, but was planning on the car to be my "reliable transportation" look how that turned out. well, I'll see how much money I really get while not working on the 240 all the time.

Well if nobody else is going to make a sexual comment on the thread title, then I will darnit!

I think you should pull out. I broke a condom once and I was glad I pulled out. I still have a kid though. I didn't pull out that time. See where it got me? Heheheh

well, looks like I will be keeping it for a while, and parkign it.. If I ever get it running right, I might sell it, might keep it. Thejoy of a loud car with no interior, and leaking fluids has grown old. It just needs sorted out, and I am tired of doign it.

Ok, a guy offered me $1200 plus a 85 corolla GTS wiht a rebuilt motor with cams, suspension work, and a J-blood body kit. I think I am going to take it. This project was more that I could chew. I hope to do it again in the future, when I have $10,000 for a project and do it right. I am going to send him over here, so look out!
