would put this in interior/exterior but this sub forum gets the most traffic. I've been thinking about color matching (Code Red; paint/clear coating) all the silver interior accessories; How hard is it to remove those pieces? I've had the arm rest pieces off before, and I know those pieces are not hard to remove, but how hard is it to remove the steering wheel and shifter boot (or what ever it's called)? Also I've been wondering about the chrome rings around the air vents and radio and air conditioning control knobs; can they be removed, or are they truly part of the knobs? Another question for the folks here with the red seats that I've been wondering, but have not been able to see a good photo of. Black, tanish grayish and red seems like a weird color scheme; are you guy's headliners black instead? I've seen Xenon's Black coupe with red seats in person when he had it, but I don't remember paying attention to that then.

Everything should just pop off, with the exception of the steering wheel area. There should be two bolts behind the column (I think), there is a write up here if you search for it. Just make sure if you proceed without the write up that you unplug the battery. You dont want an airbag point blank to the face.

Thanks for the Info; you're right about the Airbag. When you say everything even the chrome rings on the air vents and control knobs?

the chrome rings can be removed and painted, to preference

disconnect battery first or secondary airbag sensor will trigger if you disconnect that middle vent section to get the rings out

Dang modern computers on wheels. Well at least our coupes are nothing near like my wife's e90 328i; on her car something as simple as a battery replacement if you don't do it in the right sequence you can brick the car, so at least we're not dealing with that kind of ridiculousness. But, no if y'all had not mentioned it I probably would not have disconnected the battery to just remove a few interior accessory pieces. Say if I don't have the project done in a day or I want to take my time; I can't use the car if those dash pieces are removed, because a sensor could recognize that those pieces are not in place and deploy the airbags too?

Hm the only thing that would set the airbags off is the steering wheel. You can drive with your dash disassembled, I know from personal experience.

I know this has nothing to do with what the thread is about, but I took off the vents to change the stereo out and forgot to unplug the batter. So I triggered the secondary airbag sensor and now there's a light on on my dash, any idea how I can reset that?

Yeah use the search feature to look up the airbag light reset. If that doesn't work let me know.
