I had considered the same thing. The Megan midpipe is a larger diameter than the stock exhaust so you'll have to get it fitted correctly.

CPJ LB - i think he got some megan mid pipes , he should chime in on this in a bit !, for me i did a custom Ypipe to mid pipe to Tanabe exhausts , and i LOVE the sound not too loud but more than stock ! when you stopmo you can hear intake and exhaust !!!!! WHOOOOT !! my buddy took his resonatos off with the same setup as mine and it sounds really good but a little , just a little bit loud for my daily and fam car !

IMO the Megan Racing is the best bang for the buck. Not only can you get it for under $650 shipped to your door for mufflers & mid-pipe the system is fully polished unlike other brands that cost much more. Even the welds look great.

I just wish the Megan Racing would make a y-pipe with HFC for the M45.

Also keeping the dual tips was a + for me.

yes, I agree with the craftsmanship of the Megan set up (mid pipes, axle backs, and y-pipe) if I understand the OP correctly, you were just interested in the mid pipes?? and keeping your stock mufflers?? I believe you will get better flow from the y-pipe into the mid pipe and possibly get just a little 'tad' of sound, but performance wise, depending on the piping from the stock muffler -- possibly 2" or 2 1/4"s -- you will now be going from a larger diameter(from the mid pipes = 2 1/2") to a smaller pipe leading to the muffler you may lose some hp....again, I'm not too sure of the M45's tubing, since I have the M35. if you are keeping the stock mufflers, you may want to consider enlarging the pipe (small section) from the muffler to the mid pipe extension pipes...just a thought.

But, if you were to go with the Megan mid pipe AND axle backs, you would definately get more flow and power...the sound will be good since you are keeping your factory resonator. as far as your intake, a K&N drop in will work just fine...

i would like to get the megan mid pipe and axle back together i just dont want it to loud for my daily driver, so that is why i decided on the mid pipe and the stock mufflers. i heard a clip on youtube and it sounded nice. i am a lil confused there is a Y pipe and a mid pipe and you have to buy them seperate or the mid pipe kit comes with both from megan? i thought on the website it was a direct bolt on to stock or the megan kit?

it's not loud, it's loud at start up and when you floor-it. The rest of the time sound almost as stock.

I would tell you to get both the axle back exhaust (mufflers) with the mid-pipe. They are bolt-on. The biggest pain will be to get the old rusted bolts off. I think it's best if you go to a muffler shop to get it installed.

no one make a y-pipe (pipe before mid-pipe that has the cats) for the M45 :frown:

Any recommendations on where to get a Megan exhaust? Most places do not have them in stock.

Thanks
