I'v been thinking about getting a Mac for a while now, and I found a powermac G5 with a 2.3ghz, 2 gig of ram, 250 gig hard drive. It's second hand from a university for $900. Does this sound like a good deal? I've never really priced macs before, and I've been using them alot in my graphic design classes, and really like them. Any other opionions? Thanks for the help.

I'm not real knowledgeable when it comes to computer hardware, but I know it has a duo processor, but it's not the intel one.

From what I'm looking at on Ebay, $900 isnt too bad of a price, the cheapest similar system I found was $820 shipped.

That would be the dual 2.3 quadcore xeons. Each processor costs mire then $900. LOL

No the G5 does not have dual core processors like the intel CPUs. These are the last of the Motorola CPU computers, fast but slower than the new intel processors.
