So I'm selling my beloved Altima Coupe 3.5 SE in favor of a daily driving beater that gets better MPG and 4 doors (new baby). I have decided to stay within somewhat familiar territory and get a used $1500-$3000 Sentra, a good condition B13 to a B15 to be precise, and if possible with 5-spd to teach myself how to drive stick.

Having been an owner of a '06 B15 Sentra 1.8 I'm familiar with the typical Nissan quality BS (power window regulators, don't-wanna-start-right-up fuel pump thing, O2 sensors, loose screws, possible failing HG) is it a good idea to get an older B14 SR20 or GA16 for a couple grand, or should I stay away from them? Or do you have any pointers on what problem parts/issues to look/listen for when buying my first B13/B14 (most probably B14 due to availability)?

My thinking for selling my otherwise nice VQ coupe is to get rid of the monthly car note money drain for the last 13 years of my life, and the fact that my 80 mile daily drives are adding up my car's miles and costing a small fortune for gas ($280 a month) considering it runs on premium @ $3.75+/gal. Add to that the ease of access to the rear seats for a baby carseat and all that and there you have it. :tisk: Ok ok, the money I'll save buying a $1500 beater means I can also afford a decent FJ60-FZJ80 Land Cruiser. :gapteeth:
