Thinking about getting a 04 G35

Okay, so heres my situation... Right now I have a 92 3000GT VR4 its got some mods but for the most part its basically stock besides up'ing the boost to 12 from the stock 6. According to an estimate from people on the forums with my mods im sittin pretty at around 270-280 at the wheels (keep in mind its AWD). I raced my friends bone stock 04 G35 coupe and each time I took him by about 1-3 car lengths. I was amazed with the power it was putting out and hanging with a twin turbo AWD, being that its a bone stock all motor car. From a roll at 50 I took him 3 times, and 1 time he actually beat me (My front bumper at his rear). After the races we switched cars and man was that car a blast to drive. I was amazed with the handling and the super nice smooth ride. Its got a nice luxury feeling to it but still has the concept of a sports car, and im sure everyone and their dad can agree that G35's are beautiful. I love the idea of knowing I could put it sideways at any time and it drifts very well. I also love the fact that its 6 speed just like my VR4. To make a long story short, I fell in love with this car and I've been wanting to get a new car anways, a 92 is way out of date, although the VR4 is a very fast car and has ALOT of potential, and can hit 9's for cheaper then a G35 would cost. I'm getting older and I'm starting to learn I dont need the fastest car in the world, just something new and nice, and still fast and fun. As long as I love it who cares if its a 9 second car. So, I am now thinking about selling my VR4 and putting a down payment on one. I know I can afford it no problem, so thats not an issue. I'm looking foward to TT'ing it within the 2nd year of having it (i've been researching on it). I guess im just looking for some advice/insight/any comments you guys might wanna give to a possible buyer =)

ps- How's your TT G's feel??? Do you guys feel you have enough power? and can you easily hang with STi's, Evo's, VR4's, RX-7's, ETC that are modded? It seems alot of G35 owners dont have high hopes for their cars vs other sports cars (no offense guys, just seems like that from what I read)

What are you TT owners running in the 1/4 mile?? also post your WHP if you dont mind so I can compare times to WHP.

I dont know how many people go FI on here. I know there is a huge modding community for FI elsewhere though.

Go with the G though...

I know a guy that has Greddy TT on his 03 and is pushin 414 whp i believe...

a few people have SC's. A friend has the Fidanza 350Z with the vortech and is pushing like 356 to the wheels i think it is..

nice...definetly will be enough power for me I think.I'm only at 280 AWHP tops right now so 400 at the rear will feel amazing im sure.

I want to go with a single turbo setup... I know that's what the big boys are doing...

Big power at high RPM, and depending on the turbo, you can find some with little lower RPM lag...

I've seen one pushing 906whp on a coupe.

Ahhh, the 3000GT VR4...I had one years ago. Great car...but a laughable rear seat.

The Infiniti G35/37 is a totally different car, but as you mentioned it is a different breed from the "boy-racers" (Evo, Sti, Rx-7). However, with the proper mods, the VQ35 can make as much or more power. If you really want to make big power, go with forged internals and a custom FI set-up.

Personally, I'm going with a Vortech as I don't want to go too crazy as it's a daily driver. (Turbo installs are more than I'd like to do)
