Thinking about drive my 240sx up to reno

Hey guys, I'm just kind of wondering what you guys think about this. I'll be driving my Sr20 240sx from walnut, CA to reno, NV its about a 8 hour drive 400 something miles. I was also just wonder how many of you guys take your cars on long road trips? It's just been something on my mind so i decided to just ask lol.

to be honest I haven't driven 8 hours straight, but I have done many 3-4 hours trips. check your fluids, get some fluids (coffee/tea/water), check your tire pressure and hit the road!

cars are meant to be driven (but just in case get an AAA subscription if you are very anxious about it )

second edit: a lot of my friends use a rental for long trips. it can be more comfortable/safe and you don't have to worry about insurance in case of an accident (haven't looked in to that personally).

i drove my rb25 powerd s13 from san diego to grass valley ca. which is about an hr from reno.totaled about a 8hr drive at near 600mi. the cars get uncomfy so stop and stand up and walk around a bit. also if possible take a buddy. and turn your boost down a bit to get better MPG.

I've driven mine 3 1\2 hours not that its an sr20 but I do hope you have cruise control and a comfy seat cuz you won't realize how long it is until your butt starts hurting. But other than that lots of music helps and different kinds to break up the monotony. And def check the fluids and tires.

I drove from Kansas City Mo to Redding CA when I moved two summers ago. My car was packed. Good thing I play a lot of tetris. LOL It took me about 35 hours. Five the first day because I left straight from work. Then 17 the next and 13 the next. All by myself. I loved it! Take plenty of music. Atleast yours is a straight shot and will only take a day. Have fun!!!

hey i drove from chico, ca to San diego, ca and it took me almost one day, one night, and half a day. But during that trip i stop by SF and went canyon racing with some friends for a while then got back on the road. BY the way i have a single cam and just make sure your car is in good shape just check, good pulley belts, no over heating, coolant hoses, no nails in tires and money for the strip club in reno, cause they do have some good ones. But with a sr you should be fine

make sure to check if your spare tire has air and if you have a jack with you. a spare tire is a useless tire without air and, that spare tire is useless without a jack. haha have fun!

Haha I'm driving up to visit my cousin, and i also wanted to check out street import nights. Thanks for all the replies guys, I was just curious because I get an uneasy thought about taking my car up, not because of the motor or anything, but because of the simple fact that its an OLD car haha

Last summer I drove from one side of Canada to the other non-stop in my 240 with a roasted clutch and a bad slave cylinder, it was pretty fun, but you need music for long drives especially if you aren't going to see/do any sight seeing. You also need teh foodz.

yup what that's why I'mr eally tryin to plan this out, summer time's also really hot and to add to that already my car doesn't have a/c haha. I'm also worried about passengers, I be having 1 - 2 passengers, one is fine because they can just sit up in the front, but I'm gonna feel sorry for the one sitting in the back seat hahaha. The back seats are hell and we all know that! haha. well thanks again for all the contribution and ideas!
