I want to buy the stage 2 stillen super charger that's made for the 03-04 350z that has the same motor my car has, the vq35de

Looking at the fact that it will fit the 350z, it should work for my m35x as i have a s*** ton of space, legit so much space.

I noticed that there is also the vortech supercharger. But my question is, since the stillen supercharger sits on top, does it replace the stock intake manifold and gets replaced with that whole unit? Or am i wrong and the stock manifold stays on while that black piece lays on top?

Also, since i have more space, do you think i will have enough clearance?, and should everything else bolt up fine?

Should i get an intercooler and pay a bit more money or will the piping be too small?

Give me all your sugestions and feedback!

My car has 115k miles on it

both units are good...

with the Stillen, I believe you will need to modify your hood -- due to the unit fitting on top. They have a piece that replaces the section needed to be modified...the hood will have a 'raised' section

The Vortech will sit nicely in the engine bay..also check out GTM...I think they've crafted a SC as well...

But most importantly, you 'may' need to swap out some engine internals, trans valve body as well as the fuel pump, injectors, etc...and get that badboy tuned right :)

I am considering this too, I would think aside of the SC components it should be straight forward. Possibly even with G37 fuel components injectors & pump depending on there flow rates and of course a tune. A question is can the transmission hold up to a conservative tune not pushing high PSI? Also Stillen makes a SC kit for the FX anyone have a FX & M to test the hood clearances between the FX & M?

Don't do it. VQ + boost + reliable + affordable... you can only have two

I'm with seymore4. I've been down that route boosting a na car.
It's not worth it in opinion, but best of luck if you do it.

I agree with all posters who said don't do it. Blowers are awesome, but you will need a complete re-tune of the car once you put the blower on. Blowers just pump more air in. If you want to spend the bucks go for it. Just remember a blown engine is under a lot my stress which may break it or at least limit its life span. But if you are looking for more HP and can afford the price to get it installed right I'd be tempted. Open up your wallet as the price of the blower is about the least expensive thing of installing one.
