So I have been thinking of adding a 350Z to my garage. I am sick of how slow the Lincoln is, and it's too big. I need something sporty, and fast! What kind of power are you guys getting from these. Any1 have 400 or more horsepower. It would be spectacular to have the Lincoln for crusing, and a 600 horsepower sportscar, for pwning ricers. I have looked at some 350's close to home. Is 15k a fair price to ask? 2003 with 42963 miles.

not to bad a deal.... as for power and everything goes these cars have alot of torque stock and are pretty quick through the whole power band... its easy to mod em and to find parts for em to get 400+ hp (not to cheap depending on how u go). They are a comfy, fast, sexy car. Def. best bang for my buck ever.... and i think every z owner feels the same as I do when i say this car has not let me down once or made me unhappy with my decision in picking this car.. G/L man!

You have a really cool car sonster. Yours is a 2006. Is its motor a 3.5 or is your bigger. 400 horsepower. I expected more. How hard is it to get that much. You said it's easy. How easy. Bolt up parts or other kind of stuff. When you say 400 horsepower, do you mean at the motor, or at the tires.

looks like a good deal, stock the 03-05 cars had 287 hp at the crank, to get 400 hp you'll need forced induction, most turbo kits with intake and exhaust top out right abotu 400 whp, thats also the limit of the stock internals, they don't live long at that power level without upgraded rods, pistons, and headstuds, and your lincon's 4.6 v8 makes bout as much power stock as the stock 3.5 v6

Yeah that looks like a good deal, you can get get 400 rwp out of that car in many ways. Evil makes a good point, I agree. Just get the car the mods can come later, there is always time for mods.

i also agree with them. When i said it was easy i ment that there are many F/I kits to get u to 400 hp... but anything over that would need upgraded internals.. i guess really u can get ur car to just about any #.. depends on how deep ur pockets are and how much ur willing to spend... but i will say i used to own a z32 with bout 400 hp and a 350z with prolly bout 360 walked me on the highway... and i dont think he had f/i. As of now all 350z engines are 3.5L.

Sounds like a good deal. Is the car accident free?

all 350Z' are nowand have alwasy been 3.5, just like the 240Z was a 2.4, the 260Z was a 2.6, 280Z and 280ZX were both 2.8, both generations of the 300ZX were 3.0, thats kinda where the name comes from, and yes the VG30 can handle more power on stock internals but it's workign harder to make the same power from less displacement

Just for the record, the only reason the 350 or any VQ35 would be limited to 400 is because of octane vs compression limiting. The motor itself will easily put out over 500. Heck the 2.4 KA will make 450 ALL day and it's definitely not as strong as the VQ.

Methanol and boost is the key to big numbers without swapping internals.

So, methanol and ethanol is about the same right?

Skip gas all together and run alcohol and boost. Cheap, clean and powahfull!!!

What kind of boost do you use WDRacing. Turbochargers or superchargers. Do you own a race shop?

Its obvious that you know what you're talking about when it comes to racing and alternative fueling. I'd suggest running 100% methanol ALL the time. That way you can have the fastest daily driven stock internal 350Z on the planet

Oh I was just messin with Tylerlovesathrobbingmember...

You can't run methanol full time...at least as a daily you can't. If it was a race car yes. The entire fuel system needs to be changed, the methanol would need to be purged every night, the injectors would have to be 50% bigger just to achieve stoich and the ignition needs to be amplified.

It does however work awesome as a sub injection. You can use Methanol, Ethanol or even Xylene in a alcohol injection system. Water can be used as well...but it's not my thing.

It's really another entire thread worth of info, tuning and different types of alcohol etc.

I wrote a beginners guide a while back if you wanna breeze through it. I swear by alcohol and boost...always have.

It's only after we've lost everything that we're free to do anything. I've owned a Lincoln. How is a Geo more fitting or worse? You should try using your intelligence when posting. It suits you better.

Thanks for the info on the alcohol WDRacing.

I think I will be going to the car lot this weekend. Hopefully I can work out a good deal.

Yes insult a mod, very wise choice good sir. In any event do a little research about the car please. Use the big flashing search button to find out about how much hp/tq the car is capable of before asking the question...lazy *** kids now-a-days. At least in the G forums, it's been about 56390284 times...and they share the same motor so it'd be a safe bet that it'll be the same in a Z.

Next before you start thinking about 400+ hp why don't you try the car out and see how it handles. It's a lot different than a nice big battleship Lincoln. Get used to it and THEN think about dropping in large quantities of go fast.

I just want fast. I don't really care about cloth seats or leather. As long as it is a good body and motor.

He started with the impoliteness. I wasn't rude, or vile in any way. I simply made my point. People should speak intelligently to each other.

I did do a search, but the search sucks. I have been a member here for quite a while. I don't post a lot, but know how to search.

Now that I know that the G35 has the same engine, I'll have to search there.

It's not like I have never driven, or just received my license yesterday. I have had that damn Lincoln since 1999. It is an understatement to say, it's getting tattered.

Sigh. It's a saying that people use....I don't think anyone cares that all of your bookmarks are about Z's. Good for you, would you like a cookie? I have no bookmarks for Z's, and I bet I know a lot more about the actual workings of the car than you chief.

Also every time you've opened your mouth you have said something stupid and wrong......one instance....you get shot for a DUI in Germany.

Hey no worries man, I ain't got no beef with you LOL.

The search function works a little better if you do a search that includes the thread bodies. Also if you want to look more into FI, go into the G forum under FI applications, there's a lot of knowledge in there about FI with the VQ drivetrain. I'm just suggesting driving the Z a little, it's driving characteristics are very different than a land yacht.

It's all good kid. I don't take offense at anything anyone here could say.

Way I see it, if I can mash on that land yacht through traffic on the 110, 405 and the 5, then driving a sportscar half it's length with twice the power, should make the daily commute much better.

LOL . I would get at least the Enthusiast since it comes with the VLSD, and I would try to get as newer a model as possible, +1 for the 07 and up with the glorious HR motor.
