ok, so here's how it is. I'm currently driving a piece-of-feccus Saturn deathcab with a severely cracked windshield, an engine that makes a myriad of unnatural clicking sounds (and on occaision an aweful clanking sound, like the fan was hitting against something), and a gargantuan hole in the passenger floorboard.

I just looked on eBay and saw an offer that appears to me to be too good to be true. I'd like your opinions on whether or not to buy this or not, as I'm new to this whole "buying a car" thing, and don't know what to look for. yes, I am a n00b.

here's the link:

if your new to buying a car, then you shouldnt be buying a 500hp built car.sorry to say but you need to get some experience under your belt before you start wrestling in that crew

forget ebay-stick with craigslist/autotrader/NICO/cars.com

if you really have that much $ to drop then go ahed and buy a clean STOCK S14 and start toyin around! then go from there

I got a weird feeling. But then again, his feedback is 100% positive and he seems like a legit guy from what his comments said. If it's gonna be a dd, I wouldn't spend that much on a car that heavily modded (just my opinion). Good luck with your decision dude!

the ka24de was bored out to 2.75 and he used a racing silvia transmission that cost 3k? sounds like some bs to me. you cant just "bore" it out to 2.75

Wtf is a Japanese racing transmission? Sounds pretty fishy to me.

thank you all for your insight... I'm new, and I feel like an idiot in the midst of geniouses on this forum.

I'm going to take Driftboy's advice and buy a stock car, and tinker from there. thanks again for the advice, everyone.

Hmmm

Looks right....

But doesn't feel right.

Of course, it may be because the guy is a car salesman!

$14K for a 240SX!

You could buy a nice E46 330CI for that kind of money. Are you some type of die hard 240 fan?

I rather be driving around in this...

than this...

It's up to you, it's your money.

your motors making a clanking noise in your saturn? fans hitting something and ur looking at buyin a 500hp ka-t? do ur self a huge favor and buy a STOCK shell n invest the extra 8-10k ud spend on that car that someone else obv beat the $hit out of and modded for his liking, be creative, build a car for your self, not something else made, be able to say built not bought!

Plus you'll have a lot more fun dumping that money into a shell. than buying a heavily modded car.

I want to get a stock S-13 and build it myself, but when I said I was a n00b, I meant it. the most automotive modification experience I have is changing the spark plugs in my brother's Chevy LUV when I was 14. but everyone's got to start somewhere, right?

Anyway, I still dont have any reference as to how much I should pay for a decent stock 240SX. so I'm going to ask: What would be a fair price for a decent stock 240SX, with a decent engine, decent mileage, decent tires, etc.?
