Ok, so you've got about $80,000, and your thinking about the new GTR. What the dealer doesnt tell you is that if you abuse the VDC or the Launch Control, and the trans acts up, its on you, warrantee voided.

Also, when it comes time to replace your brakes, at the dealer, they wont let it leave without having all four rotors, and all pads (fr and rr) replaced, to the tune of around $7200.

Tires: Dealer says, if you replace one, u replace all 4. Car is not to leave the dealership after a service if it is not 100%.

I work at a dealership and we had our first one in service and he is now considering selling the car. He needed front brakes, and the service dep. wont touch it unless they agree to have all brakes replaced. The customer then called 1800nissan1 (cust. service) and they confirmed this.

Just a few things to think about...comment and discuss...BTW, I work in parts so, any questions ask away.

i heard about the astronomical maintenance prices for those things as well. A brake job is just as much as a clean s14 lmao.

If you can afford a R35, then you can afford the tires and brakes. And why on earth would you want to replace one or two tires or front brakes only?

Price of dealing with the gizmo-R. I have no sympathy for them, bend over and take it dry.

You will likely void your warantee if you touch anything. This *** barge is not a corolla, everything is at a whole new level of gay. Expect to have more than just you driving interaction taken away if you are silly enough to drink the kool-aid and buy an R35.

^because you are not "GT-R certified" Have you guys seen that plaque at your nissan dealerships? Apparently the GTR must be worked on by a GTR certified technician and no one else at the dealer. I wouldn't be surprised if you warranty takes a hit once you start pulling the wheels off yourself

If you fix the car yourself...warrantee voided, Nissan wants all service records to show a GTR certified technician did all the work on the vehicle. If not, then you can plan on doing all work yourself, because my GTR tech here said if someone else has touched it, they are not to.

BTW, I am not an owner, just nissan parts guy and enthusiast that took notice of what was going on here at the dealership, and what had happened with a GTR owner here.

As fast as the GTR is, for me there is something missing in the true driving experience. I really missed driving a manual. I dont need VDC or Launch Control...

uhh opk, solution, buy nissan parts and install them your self, dont be a dumb as$ and scratch the rims, round off a lug nut, break a stud, strip a caliper bolt. dammit, its a break job! 14yr old kid do brakes on the civics all the time, not that hard, dont say ne thign about you doing your own service, its illegal for a dealership to void your warranty as long as you provide your sales recpt,

Do you really think it will be that simple? Where are you going to get your parts?

The R35 is a whole new animal, whatever you used to get away with before is over, the thing will tell on you.
