I encourage everyone to watch this case coming up on the Supreme Court's docket. It seems insane and it is, but it's very real.

Textbook publishers are shady. They use dirty tricks to maintain their relevance, just like the film and music industries.

Oh, I know. I have to buy a new book every couple of months and they keep changing the issues so you can't use older ones after a while.

I see this case as overblown. I'm sure our rights to sell personal possession will not be impacted at all. But I can see SCOTUS closing a loophole that the clever Thai guy exploited.

I can understand non-physical items (although I feel that there should be a platform to sell used non-physical items) but for physical items, bugger off.

Sorry John Whiley and Sons, this is called arbitrage and it's your fault you overcharge for your books in the US. You should be embarrassed at the fact opportunities like these are available; open markets regulate things like this.

"Exceptions will be made" they said. This worries me. Fact, as well as law, doesn't deal well in exceptions... unless you happen to have lots of $$$.
