So I am converting from E-T to DE-T now... I have gathered quite a few parts for the new motor but i'm kinda stuck on one part right now.

The manifold I bought (SS) does not have an external WG port on it. He was going to run an internally WG turbo but i'm not. Question is... should I cut a 1 - 1.5" hole into the SS manifold and weld on an external WG setup between the 2 -3 runner or try and run the WG at the DP flange?

What I mean by the DP flange is what is pictured below... Its a 5 bolt flange with a 38MM tial wg comming off the back of it. It is also 3 bolt pattern instead of the 5 bolt.

5 bolt flange w/ wg on itmanifoldTurbine it will bolt up to.

i have never seen a DP flange like that. kind of ingenuitive if you ask me. anyways it does not look like that exhaust housing has a whole for a internal (external in your case) wastegate.

damn your right... That didn't cross my mind. Looks like i'll be cutting into my SS manifold and welding an external WG port on it.

Another question... should I cut the flange between the ports? That gives it room for expansion and flex correct? The flange is freaking thick and may kill a few blades cutting through that stuff.

I'd put the WG inlet between the 2nd port and the turbo inlet, so the exhaust air wont have to change direction when the WG opens.

werd put it as close to the turbo flange as possible. try to use as big as piping as possible, and very short.

I put mine like Seanc stated and love it, i'm running boost pressure from the spring only since my Boost controller took a **** on me and it holds 1 bar without the slightest bit of creep.

I think i'll be taking it to a professional welding shop so they can weld the SS... I would rather not mess it up. What side pipe should I get for the WG port? 1.5"?

also, should I slot the runners? that flange is pretty damn thick and a few guys at work said its soo thick that the chances of it warping are pretty thin...

are you going to be running a 38mm gate? if so 1.5" should be sufficient.
