After a lot of searching and reading and re-reading various things i found out that i was trying to pull codes the wrong way. I found out that when you turn the key on and turn the ECU screw to diagnostic mode that i had to wait for the lights to blink twice, pause, then blink three times and then turn the ECU screw back. This yielded a code 34, which after a little more searching showed up as a fault knock sensor. Now i just gotta find out if its a wiring issue or if i need to replace it and then where i can find a compatable knock sensor to replace the stock one. Anyone know where i can find a replacement sensor?

Ca16/ca18de from pulsars are the same, but you can measure your knock sensor using ohm meter and if I remeber correctly it should measure around 1meg ohms, I will try and measure the one I got and let you know what they should measure.

I have the same problem with my knock sensor. I took it out and it measued less than .5 megaohms of resistance. I have been looking everywhere for the ca18de sensor and every parts store has told me that it is a dealer only part. I priced it at 175$ from the dealer. A bit pricy for something the size of a spark plug!

Dam, I didn't know they are that expensive, I have few used ones, I will test them and put them up for grabs.

what's the socket size for the knock sensor? It looks like i could probably get a socket in there and use a ratchet if i can get to proper size extension. Or is there a better/easier way to remove the knock sensor?
