things to look out for when buying a 240

is there like a shoppers guide to buying s13 and s14s? I really just want to make sure that if i do buy a 240sx it's a great specimen to start tinkering with. What should i look out for when buying besides the usual? are there specific things that are problematic with allot of 240's? I already tried searching for a buyer's guide with no luck.
