ok so i have been serching for a while for a decent upgrade for a s13 in the braking department (keep in mind i would love to stay 4 lug). the whole oem bb 300zx 5 lug is just not something i want to do(been there done that)

so i came up with this idea. sorta seen it done on a s13 just never really looked into it much.

id like to see a package deal of nissan part number

sentra v spec calipers(brembo) p#41011-B15U005 41001-B15U005 along with the coresponding lines (braided) for a s13 240sx(showing love for the 4 luggers.)

i think that matted with a jdm silvia/us tt 300z bmc and braided brakes and hawk/ebc brake pads would be more than sofficent for a mildy(intake, exhaust, header) car proably out brake most oem cars on the road. yet still have the flash of a brembo/drilled slooted rotor. and be say it with me 4 lug..

price is still not would not be uber expensive courtset parts has them listed at 245.75 ish a side so call it 500 and a set of rotors and braided lines. as apposed to the 300z with 5 lug calipers rotors lines and all the other stuff necessary to do a 300z.

well there is my recent brain teaser for me. anything else the community would like 2 see offered to us? any info on my projected setup questions/concerns thnigs i am missing?

On my vert I went with the 300ZX brakes with Brembo rotors and just had the rotors drilled for the four lug pattern. You actually use three of the holes that are already there if I recall correctly, and only have to use a drill press on one. Not a hard thing to do.

Yup, many guys do that (including me when I was 4 lug - made for a smoother transition going 5 lug).

Alternatively, many guys have also gone with the Q45 brakes (S13 2 Piston "Big-Brake" Upgrade). Again, you'd have to drill a hole to keep 4 lug.

Other than that, these setups are essentially bolt-on.

Also, you'd be amazed how well an s13 brakes w/ even just good pads, new set of rotors, stainless lines, and good brake fluid.

Just depends on what you are trying to accomplish... but for the most part, it's all been done.

I'm definitely no skilled mechanic, yet I was able with little effort to upgrade to q45 calipers, loaded with pads from Autozone, and four lug 12 in rotors from fastbrakes.com and brake lines from FRS.. in about three hours. The q45 brakes are huge in comparison.. able to stop a 4500 pound car quickly... work great on a 2500lb car,, did the whole thing for less than $300.

a junked q45.

CLASSIFIEDscraigslistjunkyards

and possibly ebay?

it would even be possible to pickup remanned calipers from autozone for a reasonable price. these are brakes -- they may save your life, don't cheap out.
