Hey all,

Soon ill have a 1991 Nissan 300zx NA(not sure what that stands for, i cant seem to figure it out :P all i know is it mean non TT correct?)

anyways, what things should i be prepared for? the car has 90k miles on it and looks to be in good condition besides the seats are a little torn which i dont mind. what things tend to fail around the 90 or 100k mark on non TT ZX's?

Thanks for your help

~Drew

NA means Natraully Aspirated, which means there is no means of forced induction, IE no turbo or supercharger

as for the 100k, the biggie is keeping the timing belt replaced along with associated hardware, if you don't know when the last one was put on plan on doing it soon, other than that they seem to be pretty trouble free, parts wear out and break just like any other ar but nothing I consider milage dependant failure beyond the timing belt

just do your basic maintenance and be sure to use the proper fluids ( a lot of people use plain power steering fluid which makes leaks worse, ATF only)

ok ill ask him about the timing belt.

and ill make sure to put the right kind of fluids in it :D

On that note, what do you guys think, synthetic or regular oil? which would be best? and if i had to switch from whats in there already how easy does the car take the switch?

Good luck on the new purchse! Anyway, just make sure you have, or if you can do it yourself; a prepurchase inspection done and all other associated things done. Make sure there are no leaks and if there are, find where they are coming from. Make sure there are no unusal noises or smells coming from the car. Check on all normal items that wear out. I.E. clutch, brakes and so forth.
