They took my license! For smog!

You read correct. This really sucks. I finally have the SR'd 240 that I've been waiting so long for and I got my license suspended because I didn't pass. I have one more chance, so I got the Nismo adjustable FPR, and I also have a Catco cat on the way, I'm gonna check O2 sensor today as well. Any other suggestions?

Anyone else lose their license over some BullShlt like this? If i get pulled over, I get arrested, no questions asked...I phuckin hate Illinois.

Yea, currently running 3 full inches of Blitz stainless steel from the turbo to the tail pipe....I'm praying the cat helps...

And if you don't pass they refund you 200% of the purchase price or something stupid like that.That stuff doesn't work, I know people who have dumped it into completely stock civics and camrys and ended up with a big fat Fail.

Good luck bro. You should get rid of the 3" dp, it will not help you any if doing smog. Put the stock dp back on if you have one or something. This is why it's illegal to enlarge the exhaust before the catalytic converter, but after the cat is fine just as long as it's not louder than 95 db.

You would think that they would suspend the PLATES, at most, how much sense does it make that I lost my license because my car pollutes the air too much, but any of my friends can hop into it and drive it around if they want to...and pollute the air even more.

It is completely obvious that our government is run by a bunch of senior citizens....what a phuckin joke.

Your A/fs have more to do with smog than everything else. You want the purest burn possible, running lean or rich causes emissions.

I think it was in this months SCC that they said that you should try to get your cat all warmed up before the sniffer. A cold cat converter will not work as well as one that is all warmed up. In other words... heat it up as much as posible before the test.

Also, I dont know if this helps or not. lower the boost as much as possible. take it down to stock level...

Make friends with a Nissan Service Writer REAL FAST and you may be able to pay em on the side for a PASS instead of an emissions test.

My setup is as follows:

S13 Blacktop, S14 chassisIntakeBlitz 3" Stainless DPProject Silvia 3" Test PipeBlitz Nur Spec R cat back exhaustBlitz LM FMICBlitz DD/SS BOV mounted onto Greddy Hot Pipe (atmospherically vented).ACT Street/Strip Clutch

....and that's basically it. STOCK BOOST.

My smog readings were as follows:

Legal limit on HC (hydrocarbons) = .50 GPMMy readings = 8.26 GPM

Legal limit on CO (carbon monoxide) = 15.0 GPMMy readings = 68.8

Carbon Dioxide (although readings dont matter) = 339.7 GPM

If you read the rest of this thread, you probably know the rest of my situation and set up so far....let me know what you think

um... NO

he is running waaaay too rich already. he is SIXTEEN TIMES hte legal limit for hydrocarbons. recirc it , or take it off and plug the hole. they dont do full throttle testing for emmissions so it wont hurt anything not having a bov.

Get that hi-flow cat on asap and tune everything correctly. Make sure there's no misfire and timing is correct.

It totally 100% sucks that they took your license away for smog. That's...weird. Can they do that? Did they just suspend it, or what? That can't be legal. Suspension of licesnse for failing smog? What if your catalytic converter broke and you didn't know? Do you just, lose your license?

The EPA is getting out of hand. Imagine what it would be if Gore had won...I cringe.

But, yeah. It sucks. Bigtime. Jesus and all his disciples, I'm almost having a hard time believing it...

take apart the exhaust and stuff in some of them charcol filters used in fishtanks! closer to the tail pipe so they dont catch fire!! about 2 boxes of them should filter the exhaust right up!!!
