so a few months ago i got in some trouble. yesterday i went to diversion(instead of court) they took away my license since, they have to since it has to do with alcohol and i have to go to a seminar. they took it and in 3 months i can go and retake the driving test to get a new license. it sucks but oh well...they said usually they'd give the kid 40 hours of community service and more but they were convinced i was a good kid or whatever so i got off easy. its not so bad but oh well.

Gentlemen, don't drink and drive.

You might spill your drink.

Man, thats a stinker. Looks like taking away your license was a way of indirectly grounding you.

MIPPublic Intoxication

They could have rang you up on charges, and then even taken your parents to court depending on where you live. Consider yourself lucky, and be more responsible.

actually it was a MIC(minor in consumption). i'm glad they were nice to me...i also got theft 3rd degree but it was like they ignored it cuz i didnt really get in trouble for that. I just have to go to the seminar on "Making the Right Decision" and my license thing.

This is another one of those stories that makes it apparent why I don't drink (I'm 17)... why is it that so many people I know, do?

Heh, those stories include the great one my exgf told me one time... (we were still together) that was loads of fun.

I didn't really drink till I turned 21. Some people say it's not as fun when you reach 21, but those people are alchoholics.

im confused, how did you get your licence suspended when you werent driving nor was it your car.

How would a underage drinking charge result in your licecne being suspended when u werent driving.

I need the whole story here.

Is that some new term for straight-laced? My overprotected town... yeah, never heard that. Anyways, not completely, particularly when driving... I'm not gonna go into details at this point since I still have to keep some things in the dark, if you catch my drift. But mostly, I'm straight as hell. No drinking or smoking of any kind, no sex (lol, not quite, at least), no theft or petty crimes. Minimal episodes with the Po-Po and such. I've done enough retarded things to say that I probably ought to have been arrested at some point, and probably will, but hopefully not for 10 years or so (I'm hoping I'll have a clean record when I race the Gumball ).

You know something is against the law, but you do it anyway. Then you get angry when you get in trouble for it... That sums it up. Don't break the law, simple as that if you want to avoid getting in trouble. Its worked for me so far.

One of the worst aspects about losing your license is INSURANCE! You can deal with some short term punishment but your Insurance company can surcharge you for years following losing your license or multiple traffic violations.

One of my previous employees (about 22 years old) got a DUI in PA and refused the breath test. He lost his license for 2 years. After 2 years bought a Honda Civic then called the insurance company to get insurance on the Civic. He had to pay $4000 per year just for liability insurance! He paid that high rate for about 3 years.

Morale of the story.... Try to fight your tickets etc. The insurance company will get you. I'd rather buy parts for my Q45 than pay surcharges from the insurance companies if possible.
