Caught that on the news last night. I think it kicks butt. When they start finding trolls and fairy remains, we may have a problem.

Anyway, very interesting. If they weren't height impared they may still be around. Little legs weren't long enough to make them fast enough to get away from what ever killed them.

I think it's great that they co-existed right along with humans. Maybe those tales of dwarves and such weren't so far fetched after all... hmm....

I hope they find Balrogs, like live ones, that'd be effin' cool.

Or those "fell beasts" that the Nazgul flew around on. I could pimp out one of those things, put a Recaro SPG on the back, harness. It'd be a Jay De Em Tyte Fell Beast.

No Boo Sheeet.

that's pretty insane...

Imagine if they do end up finding the "missing link" what do you think that's gonna do to religion as we know it???

I dunno, I belive that there is still so much out there that we don't know about just because the simple fact that we have not come across it.

First of all, this is something that co-existed with humans similiar to Neanderthal(not sure of spelling). And evolution is pretty widely accepted, most educated religous people, and many who are not believe in evolution. It hasn't ruined religion so far and would not. Most "christian" I am assuming you are taliking about religions are not "proven wrong" or interfeired with. It's mostly just goes against our beliefs taught in society and fear of science and change. There may be some religions that say that evoltions is not true or wrong. But for instance if you are an orthodox catholic there is no belirf that this contradicts.

I was not pointing out "christians" or "catholics" or any peticular religions. I was talking about all religions.

especially those that say that we come form Adam and Eve...

i as a catholic and have studied it for years now at high school and grade school, know that the "christian view" is that evolution is true and God helped everything along. And that the creation story is just a story.

Yet waht, 20 years ago, the Adam and Eve stary was true to catholics, then we prove evloution, so then catholics are like, ohh well see evoltion is true, God just helped it along.

Dont get me started ant more on religion.

but yeah, that is crazy **** about evolution. Soo much we dont know

To delve into the religous asspects: The way I figure it, religion is about faith. The missing link means nothing to those that have faith. We have faith in the word of our God.

God never said he wouldn't try to test our faith in him and his word. Is that what T-rex and cave man are??? What does your faith tell you. Is it with in God's power to put these things around for us to find??? To me it is all a test. I find these finds intriging, but seperate it from my faith.

Okay, I am gonna go have another drink now.

EDIT: I dont expect anyone to agree or disagree with me. The way I feel may be a bit much for rational minds. Just tossing out an opinion/belief.

C'mon Jester, you're not that deep.

Besides, your beliefs parallel with many others that allow evolution. For instance, some theologists explain evolution as the "survivors" of God's Wrath. There were always those that listened to God and lived in His word during His destruction of the sinners. (i.e. Noah and his family and Lot) Since the bible speaks of species that no longer exist (i.e. dragons and great horned beasts) who’s to say that dinosaurs and early humanoids didn't dwell the earth? If they were not on the boat, so to speak, they would be dead and buried underground...fossilized and found thousands of years later...which is what's happening.

Now if you want to go against the grain and use the word as a shield, you could talk about the length of time that's passed since this thing supposedly walked the earth until now. Most true theologists believe the world to be a lot younger than scientists. The term millions and billions of years ago means nothing to the bible. According to the word and theologists the world was created about 3975 B.C. that equates to about 5,982 years old (counting the 3-4 year correction in calendar conversion.) How's that for a religious argument.

i just read about this, the MSN article also said that that island had giant turtles on it, rats the size of hunting dogs, and elephants the size of pigs, and lizards larger than the komodo back in the day. they speculate that they were wiped out in a volcanic eruption.

also, they way they know it was an adult is because the bones in the skull were fused, and the tools they found near by were "toy-size" compaired to the tools that our ancient ancestors used.
